While we are covering GDC 2017, Mobile World Congress 2017 in currently underway at the same time over in Barcelona, and for some reason Niantic Labs is there talking about future plans of Pokemon GO. These plans include three, already planned, big updates.

Ubisoft has announced a new Virtual Reality game that will feature the Rabbids called Virtual Rabbids: The Big Plan. Slated for release on Google’s Daydream VR platform, Virtual Rabbids will have players posing as an agent for a classified government agency, and you will need to travel through different locations in order to hunt down a few irreverent Rabbids who have stolen and scrambled a top secret nuclear safety password.
Prison break out game The Escapists has been announced that it’s coming to Android soon. In this game, players will customize the name and appearance of their prisoner, and then proceed to break out of the institution. Players will have to creatively utilize both item management as well as crafting (for example, making a Sock Mace or Comb Blade out of the requisite components, or locating a screwdriver to remove the grill over an air vent, so the character can climb through to better navigate the prison), and observation (such as noticing the patterns that guards follow, both in timing as well as what paths they follows, to reduce the chance of being caught).
[GDC 2017] Epic Games announces a new tactical RPG called Battle Breaker coming to Android later this year
The Game Developer’s Conference 2017, or GDC 2017 for short, kicks off today and Epic Games was part of the starting festivities, announcing a new mobile and PC game called Battle Breakers. Built using Unreal Engine 4, Battle Breakers is a new tactical-RPG title that will also feature cross-platform gameplay between mobile devices and PC.
Good platformers are far and few between these days, especially on mobile devices. Untame Games, however, have their anti-platformer title Mushroom II in the works and now the game has a solid release date, with that being March 9th, 2017.
[Update: Game Released] Island Delta: Solving Puzzles with a Gravity Gun, coming soon from Noodlecake
Noodlecake is synonymous with great mobile games, and they’ve proven it yet again with developer Mantisbite’s gorgeous new retro-futuristic sci fi game Island Delta. Island Delta is an isometric action-adventure puzzle-solving game in which the two heroes, demolitions expert Baxter and tech specialist Zoe, must make their way through their nemesis, Dr. Gunderson’s, dangerous island on a rescue mission.
A new teaser site popped up courtesy of The Pokemon Company about a new mobile game called Splash! Magikarp. The teaser site displays a newspaper article discussing an investigation into a mysterious occurrence. After hearing a roaring sound in the early morning, and feeling the ground shake, a 27 year old fisherman discovered two Magikarp-shaped holes in the ground at the center of town.
Advance human civilization by sliding and merging tiles in The Human Age, now in beta on Google Play
To be released by Noodlecake, The human Age is an upcoming match three/building hybrid game. Players wil be using a board that begins in a three by three grid to move tiles around, that are symbolic of different periods of human history. Once three of them have been brought into contact (not necessarily in a row, mind you), they will merge into a single tile that represents the next phase.
Gameloft has finally decided to get around to rebooting their HALO style franchise called N.O.V.A with a new game in the works called N.O.V.A. Legacy. While this may be a new addition to the franchise, it is actually a rebooting and remastering of the original N.O.V.A title that was released some years ago.
Publisher Crescent Moon and developer We’re Five Games’ highly anticipated upcoming first-person, action-exploration game Morphite gets a full two minutes of new footage with this new trailer.
