On Halloween we started up a nice little giveaway where two people would win one of the two Nexus 7 16GB Tegra 3 Android tablets we were giving away. The two tablets, which were donated by nVidia (say thanks!), have had no owners and are all alone over at the nVidia offices. Today we are pleased to announce that this will be changing as we have selected the two winners for our Halloween Giveaway!
As you may or may not know, we here at DroidGamers are based out of Las Vegas, NV with staff from various parts of the USA and Europe. Our first major event coverage which we will be there is this years CES 2011! You can expect a lot of coverage regarding all things Android and Android gaming related.
So a recent article posted on a major gaming site states that due to the Wild West nature of the Android marketplace, the market has gone too far which is all due to the emulators available for your Android phone. While piracy is a major issue in all areas of gaming, not just mobile, the article goes a bit far with slandering the Android marketplace because emulators are allowed.
We’ve been teasing everyone about the prizes for AGC1 and we let out that one was to be a free new Android phone. However that certainly isn’t the end of the list! You think we would only giveaway just that? Shame on you! Don’t you know we are partially insane over here at Droid Gamers? In any events, it is time to reveal the prize list and it is a big one!
Gaming has evolved since the day it started with the oldest console system. From there it has progressed to 3D multiplayer consoles, Controller-less playing (Kinetic etc) and high-end PC gaming. The next step is mobile. There are tournaments for PC gaming, consoles gaming, team playing and more and some are even televised! Now Android has it’s own official gaming tournament.
Once in awhile I like to post about what is coming up for DroidGamers in terms of new features, our growth and anything else that pertains to that. I haven’t really done that in awhile and it is about that time. DroidGamers and the staff, TeamDG, have a lot planned for the future in both the short and long term and we also look for your input about the site.
Well it is about that time again. We are looking for a couple more writers and anyone else who would like to contribute anything to Droid Gamers. If you like games and gaming on your Android phone, why not write about it whether it is a review of a game or perhaps general gaming news in regards to Android? Read on for more details..
It’s a damn shame. I have the overwhelming feeling I’m being left behind, and there’s not a thing I can do about it. And it makes things hard, especially if I have to write game reviews. Android is growing, it’s growing fast, and with every update the games are getting more and more advanced and require so much more of the phone that it did in previous versions of the Android OS.
Last week I posted our official announcement for positions needing to be filled here at Droid Gamers. The response was amazing! Shortly after making that post I had family arrive from out of town (hence the short gap in news recently) but I did go over all the applications sent in and I am please to announce the new members for Team DG.
