Sony has dropped a couple of nuggets onto the world of mobile gaming today, specifically with regards to Android of course. First off, a quick note that Sony has changed the name of the Playstation Suite to Playstation Mobile. A small but suitable change but the second bit of news is more substantial.
The current Skylanders titles have been a pretty big hit on the platforms they have been released on so far. Unfortunately Android hasn’t been one of those platforms but that is about to change as Activision has confirmed it will be coming to ‘mobile devices’.
Similar to Call of Duty Elite where you can change load-outs and other items on your Android phone or tablet, EA’s upcoming Madden 13 game for consoles has been announced during their press conference and part of that announcement includes the ability to manage teams on your phone or tablet.
Nintendo’s next possibly big product is going to be the Wii U and along with it comes a new component called the Mii-verse. This is a social gaming features that you will not only be accessed through the Wii U but also through your smartphone or tablet. An interesting move from a company who has long stood against smartphone and tablet gaming.
So E3 2012 is underway right now officially with some of the press events and new conferences. However plenty of sites are going to be streaming E3 2012 live from the showroom floor as well. One of the bigger gaming peripheral manufacturers out there in the world of gaming is currently finishing up development and getting ready to launch a new series of game controllers designed for use on Tegra-based Android devices and Tegra optimized games.
GREE, as you may know from our previous articles, is making quite the pushing into the non-Asian gaming market on mobile now that their social gaming platform has been released globally in a beta. Set to launch fully later this year with over 60 titles coming with the full launch later this year.
Square Enix is definitely making a push onto Android (finally) with a huge line-up of games to be shown off at E3 2012 and released starting this Summer. We already talked about the newly announced Final Fantasy Dimensions game coming to Android so lets talk about the rest of their line-up.

Square Enix has a slew of games that they will be showing off and one of them is a Final Fantasy game called Final Fantasy Dimensions and yes, it will be coming to Android.
Qualcomm is setting out to break a Guinness World Record at this year’s E3 conference by holding what they hope will be the longest video games marathon. At E3 2012 Qualcomm, along with qualifying participants, will be sitting down for at least 26 hours playing Android games on a Samsung Galaxy 8.9 tablet.
