Sony Ericsson has opened up a new feature on their site for showcasing games for the Xperia Play. Essentially a game developers showcase, if you make a game that is Xperia Play optimized (doesn’t have to be exclusive to the Xperia Play though) and tell them about it, they will showcase your game.
One feature that is missing from the Xperia Play is an HDMI port which we have always found to be somewhat of an interest item to be missing. Considering that the Xperia Play is essentially a game controller with a small screen, one would think the ability to stream games to the big screen via HDMI would have been included.

Now we get to see the outtakes that happened while filming those.
Well now that the bad news regarding the Xperia Play, at least for our friends in New Zealand, is out of the way, there is some good news to report on as well. Being a Playstation certified device comes with some benefits, sales apparently isn’t one of them though… yet.
With the new launch of the Xperia Play around the world, and coming to the US shortly, we decided it would be best to continue to inform our readers that if they want to unlock the bootloader and gain full root access to their new device they can do so without any super special methods. If you are still interested feel free to read more.
Sony Ericsson drops two new promo videos for the Xperia Play. Not as strange as the first two batches.
Sony Ericsson must have hired a few people to sit around and think up ideas for strange, weird, disturbing or cool promotional videos for the Xperia Play. So far, after the sweatshop videos and the Kristen Schaal videos, they seem to be pretty on point with the strange and disturbing side of things. Looks like the new ads are shooting for cool next.
Thankfully someone over at CNet Asia decided to compile a list of games currently optimized for the Xperia Play. Obviously over the course of the next little while this list will become much larger as it seems it is fairly easy for developers to add controls for the Xperia Play to their games. So, if you’re curious, check out the list after the break.
