There is a fair amount to talk about today regarding the Amazon App Store for Android. Not only do we have a rather good selection of games on sale for this week during their usual weekly deals on Android games, but today’s free app is also pretty good and to top it all off, Amazon’s App Store is celebrating turning one year old.

Nevosoft Inc, developers of the adventure puzzle game called Dream Sleuth, have now released the game onto the Amazon App Store for the Kindle Fire as well as other Android devices. Granted if you own something aside from the Kindle Fire, you can already get this game off of the Android Market.
Guild Software has brought their space themed MMORPG called Vendetta Online over to the Kindle Fire. Having been for Tegra 2 devices first before branching out to other Android devices, Kindle Fire owners can now get in on the action.
We don’t do a lot of posting regarding contests elsewhere on the internet but this one is rather large and getting more Android devices into people hands is always a good thing too. With that said, ZAGG is giving away a Kindle Fire every day for the month of February.
Earth and Legend is a rather large 3D RPG with multiplayer gaming functionality that has been on Android for a decent amount of time now. The developers, DvideArts, has just mentioned on their Twitter that the game will be coming to the Kindle Fire soon as well.
G5 Entertainment has been pushing their games over to the Kindle Fire steadily since the tablet was released. Currently two more titles are now available for the Kindle Fire with a third slated for release on January 26th.
Amazon generally has a bunch of games and apps on sale at any given time but considering that this is a holiday weekend we figured we would check out what is being offered on the Amazon App Store for sale. We already know that all of EA’s titles on the Amazon App Store are on sale for a few days for $0.99.
This year has been a mixed bag for Android gamers. Disappointments were the name of the of the day but yet despite the these lowly setbacks, Android gaming also took a huge leap in the right direction. Between massive jumps in hardware performance, more new features added to the OS regarding gaming and gaming specific devices released, it has been a great year for Android gaming.
It has been awhile since we have had to report on a game that is being exclusively launched on the Amazon App Store and we were happy with that. However it seems that quiet break is over as 11 Bit Studios have released their award-winning ‘tower offense’ game called Anomaly: Warzone Earth onto the Amazon App Store.
You may remember back near the beginning of Google’s 10 billion downloads promotion that we reported on Amazon doing the same thing with any of the apps that happen to be on their App Store as well as the Android Market.
