LucasArts is one of those studios that I really appreciate. Twenty some years ago, they released a string of excellent adventure games that went WAY outside of the bread and butter of Star Wars. Day of the Tentacle was one such game. Set up as the sequel to Maniac Mansion, Day of the Tentacle carries over many (though not all) of its characters, and takes place five years later. I really enjoyed this game when I was in High School, and was thrilled to be able to play it again over the last few weeks, via GeForce Now.

Usually Nvidia takes CES each year to announce their next products in the mobile gaming space, whether that be a new iteration of a current product, or a whole new device. Right now Nvidia is in the perfect spot in their Shield product timeline to be introducing something new at CES 2017. According to an anonymous source, this is exactly what will be happening regarding the Nvidia Shield Android TV.
Nvidia has decided to jump into the Black Friday/Holiday game sale action as well, and are putting up over 60 games for sale. The company’s Black Friday sales event starts today and runs through until November 28th, 2016. With the amount of games on sale, there should be something for everyone.
Ninjas come in all sizes and shapes, as time and Chris Farley have proven, and the full range of possibilities now includes “miniature.” Now available to stream on Nvidia Shield devices via a GeForce Now, Mini Ninjas is an action-adventure game that has large environments, and the sort of mayhem that only ninjas can facilitate.
Today seems to be the day everyone is pushing out updates, and Nvidia is another company doing exactly that with both of their Shield tablets (the original and the K1) getting new OS updates today. This update for both tablet addresses some security issues, as well as adding Vulkan conformity to each one.
Nvidia has put a selection of games on sale for the next few days in order to celebrate the upcoming Halloween season. All of the games on sale are, of course, somehow dealing with themes you would find during Halloween, whether it is zombies, other undead creatures, horror games, and so on.
Borderlands is a well established gaming franchise, focusing on first person shooting with some RPG elements. It uses the cell shading that it’s well known for, along with quirky humor. When it was announced several months ago that it was being ported over to Android, on Nvidia hardware to be specific, I was thrilled, having enjoyed both the original as well as the sequel. This game is easily as good as the others, though my experience playing it wasn’t.
While many first-person shooter games aim to deliver convincingly realistic battle simulations based in the real-world, Shadow Warrior 2 strives for the opposite. Offbeat, over-the-top and gore-drenched, Shadow Warrior 2 is a throwback to non-stop action fueled FPS games of the past but features modern, detailed visuals that take advantage of next-generation gaming hardware.
[Updated] Nintendo announced that their new Nintendo Switch will be powered by Nvidia’s Tegra processor
While this news may fall into the realm of general mobile gaming news, it is still pretty interesting to see a company like Nintendo pick up technology to use with their new portable gaming console that has originally been used in higher-end Android devices and, more specifically, Nvidia’s own Shield line of Android gaming devices. Nintendo announced this morning that their new portable gaming console, called the Nintendo Switch, will be powered by Nvidia’s Tegra processor.
Originally released on PC and consoles in 2014, Thief is a modern reboot of the first-person stealth action franchise by the same name developed by Eidos Montreal and published by Square Enix. Now owners of Nvidia Shield devices can stream the full game with a GeForce Now membership.
