Noodlecake Studios in collaboration with Adam Hunt of Yeah Us!, has just released the sequel to the extremely popular game Pumped BMX. Pumped BMX 2! is now available in the Google Play Store, and it is every bit as fun and challenging as its predecessor, with more than just a new coat of paint. Pumped BMX 2! has ridiculously smooth controls, that allow you to pull off amazing tricks, while you are grabbing air between platforms. In short, Pumped BMX 2! is well worth the price of admission.
There is a new Minecraft inspired game available on Android now called Cubic Castles. Developed by ex-PopCap developers, their goal was to create a sandbox-style game like Minecraft but adding in the playful gameplay style found in a lot of Nintendo classics like Super Mario Bros. Think platformer and sandbox building game combined into one title with cute graphics.
Every once in a while, a completely refreshing game lands in the Play Store. The key word in the previous sentence is lands. Primarily because that is what the main character, The Sleeping Prince, accomplishes in the game. He ends up landing on platforms, beds, bouncing plants, and a cadre of other places to help his kingdom. With excellent ragdoll physics, Signal Studios, the game developer, with partner Tilting Point, have created a lush world for this puzzle/platformer to succeed in many ways. The Sleeping Prince is now available to download in the Play Store and the Amazon App Store, and it shouldn’t be missed.
By now, everyone on planet Earth that plays games, reads or listens to books, or enjoys good music, has heard of Humble Bundle. If you haven’t, now is a great time to discover, what the folks over at Humble Bundle have to offer. Humble Bundle gives you the opportunity to buy bundled products, in this case, Android mobile games, while supporting charity. You get to name your price for the games. If your price is above a certain average, it unlocks more games for you, as they become available. In an interesting turn of events, Sony via their Developer Blog, announced today, that their latest title would be making its way to PS Vita and mobile devices. Fortunately for us, that includes Android devices. The title that is to be released in October is Run Sackboy! Run! It is a platform-survival game that will be Free-to-Play.
Crescent Moon Games has been busy this week, and it is only Tuesday! Just in case you missed it, yesterday, a new Mobile Humble Bundle became available from Crescent Moon Games. A few of the games are only available through that bundle, like: Exiles: Far Colony, The Deer God, 2-Bit Cowboy and Space Chicks. You should check that bundle out if you haven’t yet. There is a lot of gaming goodness that can be purchased for a small price, while at the same time, supporting charity and the developers. Today we have just been notified that their latest project, Twisty Planets, is available to download in the Play Store. It is a charming 3D puzzle game that will challenge your problem solving abilities.
Just a few months ago, Goon Studios, a game developer based in Pasadena, California, released the artistically adorable and enjoyable platformer/runner, Boogey Boy. If you haven’t played it yet, you should. It is fun, unique and definitely worth your time. We’ve been in touch with the Goons, since they released Boogey Boy. Recently, they were kind enough, to share an exclusive piece of art for their next project, Monster vs. Sheep with, Droid Gamers.
“Alone in a dungeon sat a Dodo in a cage. She was overwhelmed by sadness, her eggs had been taken away.” So begins your journey with a brilliantly conceived, and challenging platforming game, called Dodo Master. The game was released earlier this year on iOS, with a preponderance of high praise. Android gamers will have the opportunity very shortly, to experience what many iOS users have enjoyed. It is an old school platformer that rewards you for your skills, and punishes you for the lack thereof. Semir Saleh, the independent game designer of Dodo Master, was kind enough to speak with me, to talk about his game, his origins and why he is willing to do it all over again. Ketchapp seems to be delivering simple and fun games, one right after the other. In the past month or so, they have pushed The Tower, Amazing Thief and Make Them Fight into the Play Store. Thus far, all of the games have a few things in common. They have clean and simple graphics, they are easy to pick up and put down for quick game play, and each one is entertaining in its own right. Most recently, Ketchapp, in collaboration with WF Games, brought Stick Hero to the Play Store. Anybody in your family can pick up and play this game easily. All it requires is a good judge of distance.
If I were to mention animated movies such as The Incredibles, Toy Story, Brave, Ratatouille and Monsters University, what is the first thing that would come to mind? It would probably be Disney-Pixar and the wonderful stories and animation that they have created. If you are a fan of any of those movies you are in luck. Steel Wool Games is a new studio created by five artists that have been working in the animation industry for many years. With the aid of Ripstone Publishing, Steel Wool Games will release their first project, Flyhunter Origins this summer. It will be available for Android and Tegra powered devices in addition to other platforms. The game is prominently displayed as one to play on the new Nvidia Shield tablet.
