OrangePixel, one of the awesome developers of retro-style games, has decided to play DynamoKid and MiniArmy into their OrangePixel ‘Classics’ category. This means that both games are now available for free on the Android Market.
DotEmu are a group of developers who bring classic video games to various platforms. They are already responsible for bringing R-Type to Android and now the crew from DotEmu have announced a new game heading our way called Another World (a.k.a Out Of This World).

Developers OrangePixel, who have made some of the best retro style games on Android, are currently developing a new game called Neoteria. This is a side-scrolling shooter where you control a spaceship, blasting enemies as you go along through each stage.
Retro game fans can go ahead and have a nerdgasm now as word is out that the world’s first split-screen shooter, Battle Squadron ONE, will be making its way to Android in early 2012. Developed by Cope-Com, this was the first game to feature split-screen gameplay.
Not too long ago we talked about another retro-style RPG that would be landing on Android called Grinsia from developers Kemco Games. This game studios specializes in retro-style RPG titles that generally feature a lot of detail including little things like characters showing reactions to events in-game.
Like the title of the article states, there is a new emulator which has landed on the Android Market at some point yesterday called NeoDroid by Cpasjuste which, if you can’t tell by the name, is a NeoGeo emulator based off of another emulator called GnGeo.
In a short but sweet sale Machineworks Northwest has decided to put Duke Nukem 3D on sale for the low price of free for a couple of days. Although, as from our understanding of the Android Market, you are not supposed to be able to drop the price to free before raising it back up but a lot of developers seem to be doing it lately.
There are plenty of retro-style racing games we would like to see land on the Android Market, perhaps with a bit of a facelift to bring it a bit more into the modern times but still keeping that retro edge that makes old games still fun to play even today. One such game that is trying to accomplish this is Turbo Racer.
