We’ve talked about the open source media player XBMC and that it would be making its way to the Android-powered game console Ouya at some point when a stable version of the application actually exists. Well it seems that a stable version has finally been compiled and the XBMC media player is now officially available for download through Ouya’s marketplace.
With XBMC for Android soon being available for both Android devices as well as the Ouya and GameStick consoles, the developers have been hard at work adding new features to the application. In the latest pre-release build, XBMC now comes with support for Apple’s Airplay as well as a variety of other new features and fixes.
What sort of week would this be if there wasn’t any new OUYA news to report on? Today we actually get three little bits of news regarding OUYA, the upcoming Android-based home gaming console. This time the news is a bit less gaming related and more geared towards other services that will be arriving for the console.
