Double Fine’s Costume Quest will be heading to Nvidia’s Shield

Yesterday Nvidia announced that their Android-powered handheld gaming system, now official called just ‘Shield’, has gone live for pre-orders to those people who have subscribed to the Shield’s newsletter. Everyone else has to wait until May 20th, 2013 to pre-order a unit. Double Fine has come out today to announce that their Costume Quest game will also be heading to Nvidia’s Shield system as well.

Originally released onto Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network back in 2010, this particular game is a turn-based RPG that is thremed around Halloween and being a kid that is out trick-or-treating. Adding a layer of imagination that an actual child might have during trick-or-treating, this game will have battles between kids who take on a more real form of the costume they are wearing. For example, if a child is dressed as a robot, he will become a massive powerful robot in combat.

Since the game is an RPG after all, players will have quests to complete, plenty of items to unlock and a variety of environments and locations to explore, all while in the Halloween spirit. This will be the second title from Double Fine that will be available for Nvidia’s Shield, with the other one being Broken Age.
