SNK Playmore releases some classic SNK games for Android, many of which were found on Neo Geo arcade machines, in the 1990s. For anyone looking for some retro, side scrolling action games or retro fighting games, or an arcade shooter, they’ve listed several of them on sale for $0.99.

In a nod to the forebears of modern computing, two entrepreneurs based in Italy (named Massimo Canigiani and Carlo Scattolini) have designed an Android smarthphone that manages to pay homage to the Commodore systems of yore. As part of their throwback, there are a few things they have included with this device.
Released by Battle Factory SAS, Wars and Battles is a table-top style game for Adroid tablets with turn-based gameplay, and was previously available on iOS. It focuses on two specific wars from the previous century: the Normandy invasion from 1944, and the Yom Kippur War from October of 1973; the latter campaign being just added to the game.
Released by Fancy Pumpkin, The Stupidest Game Ever is a 3D adventure game that’s just been released on Google Play. According to the trailer, as well as its page on Google Play, the game allows players to try and “an answer to humanity’s most pressing question”, though interestingly enough it seems to go out of its way to not tell you what the question is, let alone answer it.
Released by Mob in Life, City Domination is an RTS game in a Mafioso setting. Players will assume control of their own gang, and will align with, back-stab, and wage war on the gangs belonging to other players. What’s interesting is that this game will geo-locate players, so players will compete to control their own city. As of July 16th, City Domination is set to receive a significant update.
Created by Legacy Games, Crayola has released a new app for kids to enjoy. Crayola DJ is an app that allows kids, ages 6-10 (according to the press release), to be DJs using touch controls. Players will be able to crossfade, mix, tempo-slide, and scratch to their heart’s content. There are five different styles of music, distributed over the near 100 exclusive tracks, that range from Hip Hop, to Pop, to Dance, and more.
Released by Zillion Whales, Mushroom Wars: Space! is the second game in the Mushroom Wars franchise. In Mushroom Wars: Space!, players will control an army of mushrooms, fending off invading aliens, and resumes where the prequel left off with its narrative. Having left the Mushroom kingdom, players will use their mushroom army to first unite the neighboring tribes, annex planets, and discover the secrets of the flying saucer.
Released by BullyPix, Yurei Ninja is their newest release, and an endless runner. There doesn’t seem to have much for a story, but for what passes for one has players assuming the role of a ninja named Yurei that is looking to penetrate a cursed temple, defenses and all. As the hero of the game, Yurei is seeking revenge against his former master, the Samurai King, who resides deep within the temple.
[Update: Released] The first game of Gabriel Knight series set to arrive on mobile near the end of the month
Set to be released later this month for Android tablets later this month, Gabriel Knight is a PC game trilogy that was originally released in the early 1990s. Sins of the Father, the first game in said trilogy, was re-released in a 20th anniversary edition for PC and Mac last year. Now, that remastered game is coming to Android tablets.
Set for release on next week onto Android, Forest Home is a new puzzle game from The Binary Hill (the devs behind Mini Motor Racing, and other games). In this game, players are looking to guide cutesy, woodland animals back to their homes. The forest is broken up into levels that are on a map, and players will also need to strive for a three stars rating on each level. You can also show off your results on your social media accounts.
