Fishlabs announces their upcoming MMORTS game called Galaxy on Fire – Alliances

The developer of the rather popular Galaxy on Fire series of games for iOS and Android have announced a new spin-off themed around the Galaxy on Fire universe. This new spin-off game will be an MMORTS title for both Android and iOS phones and tablets called Galaxy on Fire – Alliance.

This new game is being developed using their own proprietary game engine ABYSS 3 which is the same engine they used to create their Galaxy on Fire series. This new MMORTS will be completely rendered in 3D as well and gameplay with be cross-platform multiplayer.

Here is the story behind Galaxy on Fire – Alliances:

The events of Alliances™ take place in a remote and hitherto unexplored part of the universe, where valuable resources and ancient artifacts are expected to be found. In order to gain access of these riches, the most powerful factions of the galaxy, namely the Terrans, Vossk and Nivelians, order their best commanders to build an outpost on that out-of-the-way star cluster and claim dominion to that yet-to-be-acquired sphere.

You will have to handle all the actions you would normally have to do in this type of game from construction of buildings and military units, researching technology, harvesting resources and, of course, combat against other players.

If you’re a fan of the Galaxy on Fire series and want to get your hands on this new game, you’ll have to wait for a bit. The iOS version is slated for release in Q3 2013 with the Android version following at some point after that. We will get to see a preview of Galaxy on Fire – Alliances at the upcoming GDC 2013 conference in the meantime. As for pricing, this will be a free-to-play game so hopefully it won’t be structured poorly and end up being pay-to-win.
