Here is what a custom arcade cabinet looks like when built for use with an Ouya console

DIY projects are always cool because you not only get to check out what other people do when feeling particularly creative at any given time, but generally also get to learn how it is done and possibly even do it yourself. Technically we don’t really get to learn how to make this custom arcade cabinet for 4-players that also happens to be powered by an Ouya game console from Burd Bros Custom Arcade. But with the right parts and a little planning, you could take on trying to build one of these yourself.

While this cabinet was done with an Ouya as the source of games for this cabinet, you could also do it with other Android micro-consoles such as the Mad Catz MOJO. This handy arcade cabinet for the Android gaming connoisseur starts off at $1500 which will net you the follow:

1) 1x Custom Arcade Cabinet
2) 1x Control Box
3) 1x LCD/LED Screen with Remote
4) 1x Ouya Console with Bluetooth Controller
5) 11 of the more popular Ouya games (all of which are the free versoins) pre-installed onto an 8gb flash drive. (List of games available here)
6) Cabinets can either have 2- or 4-player set-ups.

If you feel like beefing up your arcade cabinet, there are plenty of upgrade options to choose from including bigger screens (up to 60″), Backlit Marquees, Custom Graphics for most of the cabinet’s panels, and even the ability to choose what type of wood you want your cabinet made out of (Particle Board, MDF, or Hardwood Plywood). They can do pretty much whatever you want them to do including incorporating USB hubs, power outlets and so on. Upgrading your cabinet’s features does also upgrade the pricing of your unit as well. You can also pick out the style of cabinet you want so it properly fits the space you have for it.

Of course if you don’t want to try doing this yourself, you can order and customize one of these cabinets all you want from Burd Bros Custom Arcade if you have the cash for it. You can check out one of the cabinets (halfway through being finished) in action in the video below. In fact the company has a bunch of videos showing off the cabinet while playing a variety of games over on their YouTube channel.
