Nvidia’s rumored Tegra Tab 7 gets benchmarked, scores pretty high

If you follow the news about upcoming or rumored Android devices then you are probably already aware that Nvidia is rumored to be making their own Android tablets. The tablets, which are apparently named Tegra Tab, are also rumored to have both a 7″ version as well as a 10″ size. Well it seems as though one of the rumored tablets isn’t that much of a rumor anymore as it appears to have been benchmarked.

In terms of hardware, since these tablets are being made by Nvidia, they will be coming with Nvidia’s Tegra chipset. Other hardware for these tablets, at least the Tegra Tab 7, is that it will be running at 720p resolution (1280×736) and not full HD. This could also have helped get the high score on its benchmarking tests.

Since the tablet was clocked at 1.8 GHz, this would point to a Tegra 4 being inside. This also makes sense considering it would be a weird move on Nvidia’s part if they included a Tegra 3 chipset instead of a Tegra 4 chipset which is what they are showcasing these days. This tablet is also rumored to be coming with a 5MP camera, MicroUSB, MicroHDMI and support for using a Stylus as well.

The benchmark results show the tablets model name as being “TegraTab7-premium” and is apparently being made by Shenzhen Homecare Technology over in China. The benchmark results also show the tablet is running Android 4.2.2 and that the test appears to have been done in China as well. So what was the score the Tegra Tab 7 got? On AnTuTu it got a rating of 27643 which is definitely a solid score.

So when can we expect to see these tablets hit store shelves? Well the 10″ version is still a rumor and even though we have benchmark results for the 7″ edition, still take it with a grain of salt until something official is announced. Since nothing has been officially detailed, there is no word on when the Tegra Tab 7 will get released. Once more information arrives, we will post an update.
