We’ve reported on a couple cheap Android 4.0 tablets in the past week including the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and the Ematic eGlide Prism. Today, a New York company called XTEX is getting in one the action with its new tablet called the XTEX My Tablet 7. XTEX is selling this device on its website for $149.99.
The My Tablet 7 is running stock Android 4.0.3 and is powered by a 1.5Ghz processor that has been under-clocked to 1Ghz. It also has 1GB of RAM, HDMI out, 16GB of internal storage a 2-megapixel front camera and a 7-inch 800×480 display.
This is one of those tablets that can either be a decent knock-around device, or a big waste of money. The specs aren’t bad for $150, but there’s just no way to tell how reliable this tablet really is without getting some real testimony from owners or members of the press. We’ll move ahead with cautious optimism for now.
