Toshiba working on a Tegra 3 quad-core Android tablet? It appears so.

Fans of the Toshiba Android tablets possibly have some good news in store for them in regards to any sort of Tegra 3 quad-core device coming from the company. According to an article over at UberGizmo, Toshiba has been benchmark testing what appears to be a Tegra 3 tablet.

A new listing has appeared on the AnTuTu Website which is a site for their benchmarking application. In this list a new device has appeared from Toshiba codenamed Tostab06 which is apparently a similar style of name the company has used in the past for their previous Android tablets.

The results are what gives away the information that this new device could be packing a Tegra 3 dual-core chip as it is running at 1400MHz and further results are similar to that of the Asus Transformer Prime. While this certainly doesn’t mean it actually has a Tegra 3 chip in it, the fact that the results are close to that of the Transformer Prime does lend credence to the possibility that it does sport this quad-core chip.

A quad-core Toshiba tablet sounds pretty nice considering the Tegra 2 tablet from them came with full USB connections and other handy ports. Hopefully if this is true Toshiba will have cleaned up the design of the tablet a bit over the Tegra 2 one. Maybe we will see this at CES 2012 as they did show off their Tegra 2 tablet at CES 2011.
