Sega last week released eleven Sega Genesis console titles onto OnLive for people to enjoy, two games today and have even more planned for the future as well. While most OnLive users on Android won’t be able to play these using a touch screen, Xperia Play owners and gamers who have the Universal Remote gamepad will be able to enjoy these games.
The action-RPG title from MobileBits called Soulcraft THD has now dropped the Tegra exclusivity and is now available for non-Tegra based Android devices. Currently still in an open beta status, Soulcraft was originally released for Tegra-based Android devices for free.
Rovio, who really hasn’t done anything in terms of acquiring new talent by purchasing other studios aside from last year’s purchase of Kombo, has decided to change that trend and have gone ahead and acquired Futuremark Games Studio. If the name Futuremark sounds familiar, it should. Futuremark is the benchmarking company who develops Futuremark 3DMark benchmarking tools.
Yesterday we talked about a new game being added to the Humble Bundle for Android #2 called Snuggle Truck. We also mentioned that an ‘uncensored’ version of the game, called Smuggle Truck, would be making the trip to the Google Play Store as well.
After having to wait for quite some time including previous release time frames past and gone, Imangi Studios has finally unleashed the continuous running hit of theirs onto Android called Temple Run. This is a fairly different style of continuous running gameplay than you might be used to though.
There can never be enough good wholesome zombie games that give us a sense of accomplishment by mowing down large amounts of zombies in style. If you haven’t gotten your fill yet from other zombie games on Android, there is a new one now available from Digital Jokers called Thump The Zombie.
While there are ports of some of the old school FPS games that have graced our PC or consoles in the past available on Android, these are at their core, just ports. There is nothing wrong with a port of one of these old games but if you are looking for something a little more original, there isn’t a whole lot to choose from.
The classic RPG series may be making the jump to Android soon. Currently slated for release on the iPad, Baldur’s Gate Enhanced Edition brings the classic RPG game to mobile but enhanced with new visuals and a new user interface through the use of the Infinity Engine.
While Angry Birds Space is more than likely consuming a large amount of your time right now, if you are an Angry Birds fan that is, Rovio hasn’t forgotten about any of their other Angry Birds games and they have pushed out an update for Angry Birds Rio.
Alawar Entertainment released another game onto Android last week keeping up with their recent trend of breaking away from hidden object games as well as their other usual type of titles. This new game is a sliding puzzle game called Tomb Slider which is available for free off of the Google Play Store.
