Only about a week or so ago we reported on Sharp announcing that they would be releasing glasses-free 3D Android phones in Japan. Well news from Sharp today has the company announcing that they will also be bringing these 3D phones across the big blue puddle and will be made available here in the US in 2011.

Seems like Stonetrip’s ShiVa3D Engine is being boosted yet again even after a recent update with a slew of new features. Stonetrip and Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) have announced a partnership regarding game development on mobile platforms that are powered by the OMAP 3 platform.
Two days ago I posted about the iOS game developed by Chair Entertainment which used Unreal Engine 3. Even though this game is for the iOS it gives us a glimpse as to what we could expect to see when games start coming out for the Android platform using Unreal Engine 3. Well today the official trailer for the game was unveiled, begin drooling.
It seems as though the mobile gaming arena is heating up a bit more with the sudden announcement of Sharp bringing a phone into the mix which will run Android and provide… 3D glasses-free gaming and movies. Named the Galapagos, this Android device will have a few 3D games and movies available at the time of launch.
Apparently we were under a rock or perhaps sleeping when this was announced a few days ago. Pocket Legends is now taking sign-ups for the closed beta of the Android version of the game. Interestingly enough though, you have to be a current player to get into the closed beta which means you need an iOS device and an Android device.
ShiVa3D by Stonetrip has just announced an update to their game development suite. Version 1.9 now includes a bunch of goodies for all game developers include Android and are a result of direct customer feedback. Nice to know companies do listen to their customers. In what seems to be a little bit of back-peddling, John Carmack released a bit of a statement regarding Rage coming to Android and id Software’s stance on the whole thing. It has been rumored that Rage would be coming to Android, especially with id Software’s past job listing that was looking for an Android developer among other things.
Here is a little update regarding the pirating issue with recently released Reckless Racing (say that 10 times as fast as possible). According to a post on Polarbit’s website, the server update was completed and seems to have worked regarding pirated copies of Reckless Racing causing server problems with getting data from the servers to the game.
