Recently OUYA has announced the launch of Broken Age on the console, and the console-exclusivity of quirky clone-based puzzler So Many Me! which will be arriving at some point this month. A date being thrown around for it is June 12th, 2014.
TellTale Games has released a new trailer for the upcoming new episode for The Walking Dead: Season 2. For those of you keeping track, this would be Episode 4 of Season 2. Right now there isn’t a release date for the Android release, only for iOS and the PS Vita (July 22nd, 2014), but the Android version shouldn’t be too far behind.
Out There is a game of surviving outer space. Players assume the role of an astronaut that has awoken from cryonic sleep, and is now located in a far away, and unfamiliar, portion of outer space. From this remote locale you venture forth, eking out your survival by re-purposing salvage found drifting through space, skimming oxygen from planets that have it, alien tech, and the like. The game is quite difficult, per the admission of the developers on their page in Google Play, with its focus being resource management and interactive fictions. This base game costs $3.99.
Coming Next Week to Android: Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery – A Charmingly Visual 3D Puzzler
Coming out of Liverpool, UK is one of the most charmingly visual games to be released in some time. Lucid Games will release Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery on Android next week, July 23rd and we couldn’t be more excited. It was released on IOS earlier this year to much acclaim. Graphically it is as appealing as Gesundheit by Revolutionary Concepts and Paper Monsters by Crescent Moon Games.
TellTale Games has finally brought over their rather popular game The Wolf Among Us to Android but there is a bit of a catch to picking this game up, at least for right now. Amazon AppStore has snagged the rights to have a temporary exclusive in regards to the release of The Wolf Among Us.
One game we are currently keeping an eye out for getting released is Devolver Digital’s and Deconstructeam’s The Gods Will Be Watching game, set to be released onto mobile in the very near future. For those of you who missed our previous coverage of this game, this is a great retro-style adventure game that is themed around making good moral decisions. Almost like how The Walking Dead is in a lot of ways since your choices decide the progress you make through the game.
Deconstructeam is a game studio based in Valencia, Spain. Their project Gods Will Be Watching will be released for Android gamers soon. The art style is definitely retro, but the story line could be a page ripped from a not too distant future. The game is about the choices you make and how they impact the outcome of the game. It was created in just 72 hours during the Ludum Dare 26 game jam with ‘Minimalism’ as a theme. The implications of your in game choices will probably stick with you long after the ending credits.
The first three episodes of The Walking Dead: Season 2, are available now on Google Play. Being released in a similar fashion to season 1, the first episode of Season 2 is free with the other 2 episodes and the 2 remaining coming as in-app purchases. A Season Pass is also purchasable which discounts the entire season by 25 percent. Season 2 so far like its predecessor has been critically acclaimed upon its release. Season 2 brings more story altering decisions as you play as Clementine, a fan-favorite character from Season 1.
Knock knock is an odd game. This makes for a difficult review. The first review that I had lined up was a glowing one as I was quite impressed with the effects the developers designed, as you’ll read below. The second one I was going to write was much more negative, almost scathing, pointing out things that I felt the developers should’ve included in explaining the game better, after I encountering a sudden and unexpected “Game Over” that was without cause. This is my third take on the game, which will be a bit more balanced and include elements of both.
