The first ever Android Gaming Challenge is nearing it’s end. Today marks the beginning of the semi-finals and after that the finals where 1 person will be named Champion. Six players have managed to beat out the original 400+ entries into the tournament playing various games testing different aspects of gaming such as reflexes, endurance and strategy!
As you may or may not have know we needed to have a sudden death round between two players for the last spot in the semi-finals for the Android Gaming Challenge. It was a very close battle with neither player giving up at any point. In fact it was so close that the only difference in points is just under 700 and it was like that the entire round.
As each round end the competition gets tougher and much more fierce. This round was no exception to that rule as Round 3 has some very close scores from everyone. For this round Farm Frenzy AGC Edition was played and this one required time, strategy and patience along with quick fingers. The results are in and it seems we will be having a sudden death round for 2 players!
For round 2 of the Android Gaming Challenge the game used was Prism3D AGC Edition which was a modified version of the game. In this version the level was endless and dynamically generated presenting both skill challenge as well as endurance challenge. With the end of the round now, the scores have been amazing with one person breaking 1 million points!
Well it was a fast and crazy Round 1 of ladder play in the first Android Gaming Challenge. It was not without it’s bumps though but we got through it and it’ll be smooth sailing from here on out! There were some really close matches, some within only a few hundred points which is not a whole lot especially with the caliber of gamers in this ladder.
After a long qualifier round of gaming with gamers fighting to get into the Top 40 the list has been set and the ladder has been made. All players were randomly paired by phone type as close as possible to even up the playing field. So here is what you have all been waiting for…the ladder build and also the announcement of the 1st round game!
Well it’s been a long road to this point with the first ever Android Gaming Challenge and the competition has been fierce! Some of the scores were off the charts with the top score being a ridiculous 64 million+ points! Now the fun really begins as the ladder gets set up and the process of elimination begins! It won’t be much longer now for a Champion to rise up!
You’ve all signed up and waited for this tournament to start, so let’s do it! Every round of this tournament will feature a new game in which we will announce the day prior to the round starting. Some games will be available on the market, while others will be accessible through Droid Gamers. We will be sure to announce all up and coming information regarding the tournament to give each of you enough time to get the game in question before the round starts.
We’ve been teasing everyone about the prizes for AGC1 and we let out that one was to be a free new Android phone. However that certainly isn’t the end of the list! You think we would only giveaway just that? Shame on you! Don’t you know we are partially insane over here at Droid Gamers? In any events, it is time to reveal the prize list and it is a big one!
Gaming has evolved since the day it started with the oldest console system. From there it has progressed to 3D multiplayer consoles, Controller-less playing (Kinetic etc) and high-end PC gaming. The next step is mobile. There are tournaments for PC gaming, consoles gaming, team playing and more and some are even televised! Now Android has it’s own official gaming tournament.
