In this game you are a ninja strung out on caffeine and you need to get past every level continuously move and rescue all the coffee.

Following in the spirit of yesterday’s retro game article about OpenTyrian here is another retro arcade style game that just landed on the Android market recently called Full Metal Warriors II by JoyMaster Holdings Co. LTD. and is your one-way ticket to some old school arcade ass kicking action. It is time to unleash special attacks and beat down every enemy in your path.
It is time for some more retro-style gaming and the latest to drop onto the Android market is a game called OpenTyrian by developer Pelya. Pelya is actually a regular over at the Anddev.org forums and has released a few other games onto the market but none as slick as this one. This is your retro space shooter you’ve always wanted to have on your phone.
What is it about retro games, whether truly retro or just styled to look like a retro game, that keeps us coming back for me? Is it the memories it brings back? Is it the simply game that lures us in unlike now where it keeps getting more complicated in one way or another? No idea but Hell Invades Mars, developed by Dan Wolfe, is a great looking retro-styled arcade game.
One of the games I used to play more then others back in the day was the 1942 vertical scrolling WWII game where you fly your dual tailed plane and shoot down enemies, collect power-ups and occasionally do flips to dodge enemy fire. Well now you can have the same enjoyment of that classic arcade hit but on your Android phone now called Pacific Wings.
There are a few old school RPG style games available for Android that really embrace the old school style of graphics and gameplay. Hero, developed by Skyoung09, is one of those games which has the old 8-bit graphics and animations. In this game you have to make your way through the tower to save the princess, get treasure and kill monsters.
Retro games have always been popular regardless of what device you play them on and for Android we have seen some really good retro style games released onto the market. Boulders and Diamonds, developed by Arkadiusz Kolacz, is another nice retro game cloned after the 8-bit game Boulder Dash complete with 8-bit graphics and original levels to play.
Not too long ago we here at Droid Gamers reviewed the game Time Chaos by OrangePixel. Time Chaos is a little retro side-scrolling game where you shoot the enemies and collect power-ups. What started as a small free game has turned into a much larger game with the update that was released today on the Android market.
Retro style games always bring back great memories from back in the day when we used to play Atari or, later on, the NES. Arcade games weren’t much different back then either with their simple but great looking graphics and gameplay. P.O.D. by OrangePixel is a great example of a retro style game to enjoy on your Android phone.
