There isn’t a whole lot in the way of RTS games for Android right now and even out of the ones available, even fewer are actually good. Off the top of my head I can only think of 3 good ones. Looks like I might be adding a forth one to that list thanks to GameResort’s slick looking RTS game called Castle Warriors which recently arrived onto the Android market.
Do you love tower defense games? If you do then Guns’n’Glory is definitely a game you should pick up. This game is tower defense from a Wild, Wild West perspective. Settlers are moving into your turf and they are brining money with them. So it’s your job to liberate them of that heavy burden and to use the money you “earn” to increase the size of your gang.
Any iPhone user should have heard of Doodle Jump, and now every Android user should hear of the name Abduction! 2. This new game by Psym Mobile offers the same simplistic joy of jumping as high as you can, and also throws in a storyline (more of a objective type system) where you can save your cute animal friends and get to the goal in record time.
Persian Maze, developed by PS Games, is a new ball rolling maze game with all sorts of obstacles to get through before you can make it to the next stage. Tiles that drop out from under you, enemy spiked balls, floor spikes, twisters and more are all there to stop you from getting out of each maze successfully. This game kept it simple though with clean 2D graphics.
Defensiod is a new tower defense game just released onto the Android market and was developed by Darren White. Just like any other tower defense game you have your map and a selection of upgradeable towers to use in your attempts to defend yourself against your enemies. However this tower defense game has a couple of unique features that set it apart from the rest.
Guns’n’Glory is the newest release by game developer HandyGames. In Guns’n’Glory you are actually the bad guy, running a group of bandits who steal gold from settlers. It is a unique game in that it combines the action gaming genre with the gameplay style of a tower defense game making it a really interesting and dynamic game to play.
The very popular game iPhone Galcon, developed by Hassey Enterprises Inc, has finally landed on the Android market. Most people who have owned an iPhone at some point have probably also played this game. While there are already games similar to this on the Android market, most people liken this to being one of the best versions of this sort of game.
Starbase Defense, developed by Sebastian Serafin, is sort of like a tower defense game in that you have to defend your starbase against endless waves of enemies. While you don’t have any towers or things of that nature to help you out you do have upgrades you can purchase after each round. This is a great example of what to play when you want to kill some time.
If you used to enjoy the original Sim City and perhaps still do then there is a bit of good news for you. Saint Feint City, which used to go by the name of RetroVillage until a recent update, lets you go back to those old school days of building a city and hoping it flourishes. Layout and graphics are very reminiscent of the original Sim City game.
