OrangePixel have been around for quite some time now on Android developing some of the best original retro style games available on Google Play. This morning, after a rather long development period, they have finally released their newest game called Gunslugs. For those of you who are actually afraid of slugs, there are none in this game.

Yesterday we talked about Imangi Studios’ new game which happens to be a sequel to their rather popular continuous running game Temple Run. Aside from all the details about the game we talked about, word on the street was that Temple Run 2 would be hitting the Google Play store sometime next week.
In the not too distant past Sony released a new iteration of the classic Load Runner game called Lode Runner X which was exclusive to Xperia devices. If you didn’t own an Xperia device, you missed out on getting that game. However, if you’re a purist when it comes to retro games you will be pleased to know the classic version of Lode Runner from the Apple II days has arrived on Google Play.
If you or your kids are a fan of the cartoon Corneil & Bernie you will be familiar with the stars of the show Corneil, a moralistic, talking dog. with a 250 IQ and Bernie a high school student who is always getting detention because of the effects of him trying to capitalize upon Corneil’s highly advanced abilities.
Are you a fan of the old Kings Bounty series or maybe the Heroes of Might and Magic style games? King’s Bounty: Legions could be just up your alley then. King’s Bounty games have been around for more then 20 years and I still remember playing it on my old Commodore 64. For those of you not familiar with the series, King’s Bounty is a 3D turn-based strategy game where you get to hire and upgrade armies of different creatures, explore the land searching for treasures and grow your character.
For the third edition of our Game of the Week poll, we are going to combine releases from the past two weeks because developers are taking it easy during this early part of the year and we’ve had a hard time finding games worthy of being in contention for the award. Also, there haven’t really been any big or major releases, so you may be unfamiliar with some of the games below.
It has been a few months since EA released a video of any kind relating to their upcoming racing game Real Racing 3. To re-stoke your interest back into the game, EA has released a new developer diary showing off more of the game, this time specifically taking a look at the tracks players will be racing on.
A great little futuristic arcade adventure game arrived on Google Play yesterday from Lightstorm3D called Gene Effect. This game is a side-scrolling arcade game that features some rather interesting game mechanics not generally found in these types of side-scrolling arcade games. Also it looks pretty slick visually as well should you enjoy plenty of eye candy in your games.
When it comes to ads and Android games, many of us have come to terms with the fact that they will always be there. In fact it is pretty much a standard option of monetizing a game that a developer releases for free. When we buy a game, we generally expect to not see ads at all although sometimes they are included anyways. Well Gameloft’s Asphalt 7: Heat is now using Airpush which happens to be one of the ad serving services that most people find incredibly annoying.
All of you hardcore fanatics of Imangi Studios’ hit continuous running game Temple Run can go ballistic today as a sequel has been spotted and is apparently slated for release tonight on iOS. So why in the hell are we talking about it? Because you know this game will also make its way to Android in the near future as well.
