As hardened Android users, I’m sure you noticed a little bug that has been around for a good while. Whenever you would download an app from a third-party such as the Amazon Appstore, it would show up in Google Play as if you purchased it from there. With the latest Google Play update, that issue no longer exists.
There was a time when just about any brand name Android tablet would be priced ridiculously high. Manufacturers believed for one reason or another customers would pay $500+ for an Android tablet just because it worked for the iPad. They of course, were wrong. Android tablet pricing is at a race to the bottom and Amazon is in the lead. Perhaps Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 will become a close second?
There is a new bug squashing game on Android from developers Art Technology called X-Bugs. While at its core it is a bug squishing game, X-Bugs takes it to a few different levels where other bug squashing games haven’t gone to just yet. Mutant bugs with special powers? Yup, that is in this game too.
A couple of big announcements regarding Linux Tycoon just landed in our laps. Essentially Linux Tycoon is a “Linux Distribution Building Simulation” game where you build your own operating systems. For the nerd in us, that is rather cool. However, the first announcement is that it will be getting online play. What does this mean?
Sega has brought over and just released their best-selling (and the world’s best selling) football management game onto the Google Play store. Officially named Football Manager handheld 2012, you will be assuming almost total control over whatever team you choose from a variety of leagues.
It has been awhile since we talked about Star Command which is a space themed action / sim game heading our way in the near future. In fact it was back in March 2011 when we talked about War Balloon’s upcoming game. Now, instead of pictures, we get to check out a teaser trailer for Star Command which does show some gameplay as well.
Back in December of 2011 we talked about a game that was currently being developed by Cope-com which would be a split-screen retro style shooter for Android called Battle Squadron ONE. Well for those of you who have been waiting for this game, it was released the other day onto the Google Play store.
Alawar Entertainment has slipped outside the box once again to release a new game onto Android that is a little different then their usual types of games. This particular game is a combat action game set around a medieval theme called Shake Spears!.
Bigger really does mean better for the folks at Toshiba. The company recently announced a few new tablets that will be released starting in May. Toshiba will have the normal 7.7 and 10-inch Excite tablets, but it will also sell another tablet with a massive 13.3-inch screen on June 10 for $649.99 (32GB).
AMA has released a new game onto the Google Play store called Panic Flight. Essentially this game is a continuous running game except instead of actually running, like in games such as Canabalt HD, you are piloting a plane as far as you can go.
