The dust has just about settled from Flappy Bird’s viral success, a success so great it prompted its creator Dong Nguyen to pull it from Google’s Playstore and Apple’s App sore, and he’s released another one.

Hungarian games developer isTom Games has a few games in the Play Store. They include Paper Train Reloaded, Ship Breaker, Nyan Cat: Lost in Space, Flappy Nyan, Nyan Cat: Jump and a few others. A few months ago, they released an arcade rail shooter on iOS titled Mad Bullets. Mad Bullets became available in the Amazon App Store recently and we expect it to arrive in the Play Store soon, though no date has been confirmed at this point. The game design for Mad Bullets is a blast from the past. It is a vivid and action-filled arcade shooter that is meant to test your reflexes and visual acuity.
Crescent Moon Games adds to their impressive list of titles available in the Play Store. If you have played Neon Shadow, Shadow Blade, Paper Monsters, Aralon Sword and Shadow, Gear Jack, Redline Rush, Blocky Roads or Slingshot Racing, just to name few of their games, you know Crescent Moon Games. Crescent Moon Games in collaboration with Sakis 25 Games has released Angel in Danger yesterday in the Play Store.
Activision’s non Call of Duty mega-franchise, Skylanders, is coming to Android tablets with a full retail release of the Skylanders: Trap Team Starter Pack being made for the mobile platform. This version is said by developer Toys for Bob to be “pixel for pixel the same” as the Xbox 360 Version.
A quick glimpse of the Play store shows that there is no shortage of match 3 games or RPGs. This has been the case since the Play store launched, making it no surprise that the two genres were eventually mashed together.
With glowing hues reminiscent of the movie Tron and a pulsating soundtrack, Unpossible by Acceleroto spun into the Play Store today. Acceleroto has two other titles in the Play Store, Invasion Strike and Die in a Fire. I became aware of Acceleroto a few years ago when they produced the enjoyable endless runner game Rush City for iOS. Unpossible is a mind-bending, environment swirling, aesthetically pleasing game that will challenge your skills. It fits right in line with brutally difficult games like Wave Wave, Super Hexagon and most recently Duet. If you played Impossible Road and enjoyed it, you will be right at home with Unpossible.
Last week the newest Humble Mobile Bundle was launched with six pretty decent games. As with all Humble Bundles, a week has passed and now there are three additional games that have been added to it. These three new games are Carmageddon, Time Surfer and the somewhat unusual Llamas with Hats Cruise Catastrophe.
Ripoff Birds is a new physics-based game featuring birds in what seems to be forming into a genre of its own; mobile bird games. This one takes a jab at other bird games that have ripped off other games while offering in the description’s words “truly original *cough* gameplay.”
Freemium titles are popular these days, well, because they’re free. Add the enticing combination of Ninjas and Martial arts tournament fighting and the formula almost solves itself. It’s a cash cow. Shadow Fight 2 has garnered a whopping 5,000,000 downloads in less than half of a month, taking a sharp katana to the face of existing premium fighting titles already in the marketplace. The franchise’s humble beginning started on facebook and had a very successful run on iOS devices, so the momentum was already primed for an Android release. Shadow Fight 2 eventually snuck its way onto Android to a not so stealthy response, but more akin to sake enriched Sumo wrestler in a China shop. So far for developers Nekki, Shadow Fight 2 has been a total success on the Android platform.
A couple of months ago I came across the sequel to one of the platformers I enjoyed playing, Manuganu. Manuganu 2 was released on iOS and I was hopeful that it would make its way to Android as did its predecessor. A few days ago, independent game designer Alper Sarikaya, informed us that Manuganu 2 had indeed arrived in the Play Store.
