While rummaging around the convention center looking for all the Android gaming goodies we went and had a meeting with MHL who we are sure most people are familiar with if you connect your phone to your TV for game playing. If not, we will go over what MHL is a little bit here but the really interesting thing is that they had the Green Throttle controller and game system (currently in beta) available for trying out.

While checking out the LG booth at CES 2013 and checking out some of the mobile devices on display there we happened to spot two new games that are currently not available right now on Google Play. These two games are called Rooms 2 and Defense Technical and happen to look quite good.
Earlier this week we provided a lot of coverage on nVidia’s latest mobile chipset that is the Tegra 4. Now we would like to share with you what Qualcomm has in store for us – two new next-generation mobile processors known as the Snapdragon 800 and 600 respectively. What’s really special about both these processors is their insane clock speed – 1.9GHz in the case of the 600 and a whopping 2.3GHz in the case of the 800.
Probably one of the biggest or most surprising announcements this CES was nVidia’s Project Shield which, if you missed the announcement, is their Android-based portable gaming system that not only runs Android games (THD or other) but also PC games streamed from your PC.
Archos was present at CES 2013 and they had a few tablets available for us to get some hands-on time with. While the one we were most interested in happen to be there, the Gamepad, Archos also had another tablet there that caught our interest, the Familypad 2.
With Tegra 4 on the way in the very near future, games are already being development for nVidia’s new chipset such as Dead Trigger 2, Arma Tactics, Aliens vs Predators and more. So naturally some of you wanted us to ask about backwards compatibility for Tegra 3 devices with these new Tegra 4 games.
Today is the first official day of CES 2013 as the showroom floor at the Las Vegas Convention Center and surrounding hotels become a mad house of people trying to fondle every gadget under the sun, interview people while other people try to eavesdrop on said interview, feet being stepped on, shoulder checks and backpacks swinging freely, and all the other good stuff we’ve come to love when trending through the see of people rushing everywhere.
nVidia had a lot to say this year during their press conference which was one of the longer ones we’ve ever attended. Along with their announcement of Tegra 4, which is now official, and Project Shield, there portable Android gaming system, and showcasing some of the upcoming Tegra 4 games like Dead Trigger 2. Also announced was nVidia’s GRID, their answer to improving cloud gaming.
Mad Catz is known for making some of the funkiest looking gaming peripherals known to mankind, with half of them looking like they belong in a Transformers movie. Well the company s expanding their business model and getting into not only the mobile gaming scene but the wireless gaming scene as well in regards to SmartTVs.
For those of you who may have found the original MOGA game controller a bit small to handle, there is good news on the horizon as PowerA has officially announced the MOGA Pro Controller which is a full-sized console-style unit. Remember the other console style controller in the original promo images for the MOGA unit? It’s that one.
