DIY projects are always cool because you not only get to check out what other people do when feeling particularly creative at any given time, but generally also get to learn how it is done and possibly even do it yourself. Technically we don’t really get to learn how to make this custom arcade cabinet for 4-players that also happens to be powered by an Ouya game console from Burd Bros Custom Arcade. But with the right parts and a little planning, you could take on trying to build one of these yourself.
Recently OUYA has announced the launch of Broken Age on the console, and the console-exclusivity of quirky clone-based puzzler So Many Me! which will be arriving at some point this month. A date being thrown around for it is June 12th, 2014.
Razer, the gaming company that makes specialized hardware, like gaming specific laptops or related accessories like backlit keyboards and ambidextrous mice, is venturing into the realm of Android TV by announcing their plans to to release what they call a “micro-console”.
In other micro-console news, Ouya has launched a new all-you-can-eat type of access pass which interested Ouya owners can purchase for $59.99. Purchasing this pass will grant you access to every game on their library for 12-months. However, this is for a limited-time right now since it is more about testing interest in this sort of pass then actually implementing it full-time. That is, of course, unless a ridiculous amount of people buy it. Then we would see this available full-time or at least we think that is what will actually happen.
In the world on micro-console the MOJO from Mad Catz is currently reigning supreme, at least in terms of quality. The Ouya, however, announced that it will be invading other Android devices and consoles with its Ouya Everywhere program and thanks to a new OTA update with the MOJO, Ouya Everywhere is now available on the console.
Last week we launched what we are calling the #GimmieMojo giveaway where we teamed up with Mad Catz to giveaway a MOJO Android game console to one lucky winner while a second winner would be taking home a F.R.E.Q.m gaming headset that features Mad Catz’s mobile GameSmart technology.
Previously released on Android and iOS, The Sandbox is making its way to the Android micro-console Ouya. Developed by Pixowl, Inc., The Sandbox gives players the ability to create their own 2D world using various resources.
We haven’t ran a giveaway in quite some time, mostly due to being too busy expanding everything here at DroidGamers. With that said, it is about time to start getting back into giving away goodies to all our readers, especially with E3 2014 right around the corner, and to start things off right we are teaming up with Mad Catz to give away one Mojo game console to a lucky winner and another winner will get a F.R.E.Q.m headset.
OnLive hasn’t been in the news lately after the cloud-based game streaming company had all the financial troubles one could ever possibly not want. It seems that things might be picking up a bit for OnLive though as Mad Catz has announced the availability and optimization for OnLive for the Android-powered console of theirs called the MOJO.
