As we have seen in the recent past whether it is from all the submissions in OUYA’s CREATE competition or just from news from developers making games, OUYA has a lot of developers interested in the Android-powered console. We now have a really big list of confirmed games heading to OUYA which includes some rather big titles like Square Enix’s Final Fantasy III, Adhesive Games’ Hawken and Double Fine’s The Cave and Reds.

While a lot of people are now waiting on the newly announced Galaxy of Fire – Alliances MMORTS to arrive from Fishlabs, a new MMORTS game will be heading our way this week called Celtic Tribes. Developed by Xyrality, Celtic Tribes has players building up their Celtic themed towns and waging wars against other players, all while possibly wearing fashionable kilts.
A few days ago we received an email from our friends at N3V Games regarding a post on their blog about how changing their icon for their Trainz simulation series of games had substantially increased their sales across all platforms. We have talked about icons briefly in the past and how a good icon helps and N3V Games has provided a real world example of how it does help to have a good icon.
DeNA today has announced that the company has signed agreements with four more game development studios to bring future games to DeNA’s Mobage social gaming platform. The four companies are Machineworks Northwest, Grab Games, 4PLAT and Oktagon Games with all four companies bringing future titles to Mobage.
Stargate SG-1 fans can go ahead and lose your minds now out of excitement as the series will be coming to Android in the near future in the form of an episodic interactive adventure game called Stargate SG-1: Unleashed. This will be developed by Arkalis who managed to sign a deal with MGM to get rights to the Stargate SG-1 franchise license.
PlayJam’s GameStick is currently being developed, having undergone a redesign recently and plans to launch a month after OUYA ships out to backers of their Kickstarter campaign and a retail release in June 2013, and in an interview PlayJam’s chief marketing officer Anthony Johnson talks about OUYA as a competitor, retail backing and how GameStick may be updated with new hardware.
Electronic Arts and Firemonkeys have finally decided to let the world know when Real Racing 3 will be released for all platforms. While Firemonkeys had been teasing everyone about the game with their developer diary videos, it was always stated that the game would be coming to mobile, using the generic term instead of saying iOS or/and Android.
Recently nVidia decided to show off Project Shield a little bit more by loading up Borderlands 2 onto it and giving it a whirl. In the end it looked quite good and played smoothly. This time they want to show off another game running on Project Shield and that is Vivid Games’ newest title Real Boxing.
Interesting news coming from Qualcomm today where Qualcomm’s Snapdragon boss Raj Talluri came out to basically say there is no real point to nVidia’s Project Shield and that it is basically useless. Following that statement Raj Talluri went on to say that Qualcomm won’t be building anything to compete with Project Shield either and that there is no real need for a dedicated Android device for games.
