Everyone has probably heard by now that Amazon has some goodies in the works when it comes to Android devices. Well some news regarding their tablets that are being developed has come out that these devices, codenamed Coyote and Hollywood, will be multi-core Android tablets, slated for release near the end of this year.
Well it is a bit past the initial release date but what is a few more days of waiting right? Well you won’t have to wait any longer to get your Micro Machines style racing fix now that Bang Bang Racing THD is finally available for purchase! Being a THD title, this means you will need that shiny Tegra 2 Android device to play this.
What an interesting 24hours it has been regarding Sony and the Playstation Network. Sony held a press conference early this morning to announce officially their two upcoming Android tablets, codenamed the S1 and S2. Both will be Playstation certified. This afternoon, Sony finally came clean about what happened to the PSN as well.
It’s all over the place right now on Twitter, other news sites and Android sites. T-Mobile, thanks to LG, have dropped a double-header of dual-core deliciousness for Android gamers to choose from if you are on T-Mobile (or thinking about switching to them). The G2X and G-Slate have officially launched today.
Best Buy seems to be getting into the Android tablet scene in a rather big way. They already have a decent selection of tablets available and the pre-order for the Acer Iconia dual-core tablet just went up today. Now word is that the Toshiba dual-core Android tablet will also be sold at Best Buy making that the second Tegra tablet for them.
If you are in the market for a new Android tablet and what one of those nifty dual-core Honeycomb tablets but don’t have $800 (XOOM) to drop on one, or even $530 on contract (G-Slate), you’ll be pleased to know that Acer is releasing theirs for a mere $449.99 and is on Best Buy right now for those wanting to pre-order one.
Back during GDC 2011 we got to see a demo loop of a water racing game called Riptide GP. Developed by a 2-man team named Vector Unit, Riptide GP features some incredible graphics and physics in-game from what we witnessed at GDC. The good people over at Vector Unit sent us some information about Riptide GP along with some great shots.
Awhile back there was a little rumor going around that Sony was developing an Android tablet codenamed the ‘S1’. After that initial rumor hit the internet, all went quiet, until now. Sony has confirmed they are working on an Android Tablet that will be available by the end Summer. Granted, as of late, lot of people miss the initial release dates.
It has been awhile since we had a really good rumor going around and why not on April Fools day, of all days, to have one come to light. Kyocera, the people who manufactured the slightly odd dual-screen Android phone called the Echo, are apparently developing a ‘gaming tablet’ for Android now. Mr. Blurry Cam got involved.
Samsung just got finished with their Unpacked event over at CTIA and have announced two new tablets coming our way very soon, summer in fact. The Galaxy Tablet 8.9 and the Galaxy Tablet 10.1 will be heading into our hands this summer with some seriously good pricing to top it all off. Oh, did we mention they are dual-core?
