EA’s CEO Andrew Wilson has decided to come out and state what pretty much the entire mobile gaming world already knows, and we even stated it back when the game first came out, that the company’s Dungeon Keeper game’s microtransactions were ‘a shame’. He further went on to say that the company ‘misjudged the economy’ and while that may sound like an odd statement, it sounds like it was more in reference to how the game was priced rather than no one could afford it and the game sucked.

If you take a look at Dungeon Keeper on Android you will find plenty of 4 and 5 star reviews for what should be a great game from Electronic Arts. Taking a look at all the ratings the game has, you would think it was the next best thing since sliced bread. Back in the later months of 2013 we covered EA’s announcement of Dungeon Keeper at Gamescom 2013 and then when it went into a location specific soft launch shortly afterwards. Since then it has remained in a soft launch status until today as EA has finally launches the game globally and available for everyone who have been waiting patiently for its release.
Over the past few days there have been a few games that have been released as a soft launch specific to certain countries in like Canada, Australia and a few others, order to test to make sure they are all running good. Two of these games we’ve talk about in the past already, covering their inevitable release onto Android, and both are being published by EA. These games are Dungeon Keeper and Heroes of Dragon Age. The third game is actually from LucasArts called Tiny Death Star.
Gamescom 2013 is well under way and while a lot of the focus right now is on the next gen consoles, mobile is certainly not out of the picture and is actually a pretty big part of the gaming-centric conference. To start things off, EA has made a couple of announcements with the first one being the mobile version of Dungeon Keeper which will be making its way to Android this Winter.
