When Google originally announced their Daydream View virtual reality headset, they also announced it would be available in 3 different colors: Snow, Crimson, and Slate. When the headset went up for pre-orders, only the Slate color was available. Starting today, the other two are also up for grabs, well, sort of.

Up until now there has only been two devices that are officially certified for use with Google’s Daydream View VR headset, those being the new Pixel and Pixel XL phones. Well there are two more phones that are now certified compatible with Google’s headset and they are the first ones outside of the Pixel line. The two devices are the Moto Z and Z Force.

Right now manufacturers are trying to come up with ways to make their devices charge faster than any other devices. This is obviously a great feature for Android gamers as it means much more gaming time for us. However, fast charging done wrong can have some bad side-effects. So Google has begun getting tough on what it takes to have good fast charging.

Today seems to be the day everyone is pushing out updates, and Nvidia is another company doing exactly that with both of their Shield tablets (the original and the K1) getting new OS updates today. This update for both tablet addresses some security issues, as well as adding Vulkan conformity to each one.

This is part of the Daydream virtual reality platform that the company had been working on up to that point. During the originally announcement, it was revealed that the headset would be arriving in November 2016, but no specific date was given. Today, however, that has changed and we now know that the headset will be officially available on November 10th, 2016.

You may remember the other week when Nintendo announced its newest gaming ‘console’ which is called the Nintendo Switch. Initial reports had this tablet-style game console, with detachable physical controls that form a game controller when put together, arriving without a touch screen. Now it appears that those reports are not true and, in fact, the Switch will have a touch screen.

While this news may fall into the realm of general mobile gaming news, it is still pretty interesting to see a company like Nintendo pick up technology to use with their new portable gaming console that has originally been used in higher-end Android devices and, more specifically, Nvidia’s own Shield line of Android gaming devices. Nintendo announced this morning that their new portable gaming console, called the Nintendo Switch, will be powered by Nvidia’s Tegra processor.
