Well things with HTC have gotten a bit more interesting as of today regarding their consideration about opening a spin-off company for their Virtual Reality products. The statement released by HTC is pretty short and to the point, pointing out a few things while stating that the reports coming out of Taiwan were incorrect.
Interesting news today coming out of Taiwan in regards to HTC and their Virtual Reality efforts. It appears that the company will be starting up a spin-off company of sorts to focus on Virtual Reality related products that HTC chair Cher Wang and HTC would own, even though it would run as a separate entity.
There have been a few options over the past few years with bringing Android to desktop PCs. This usually comes in the form of an emulator you run on your PC over Windows, and not as an actual operating system. Now that the holidays are over, as is CES, we can sort of get back to some of our regular lives, at least for a couple of weeks till the next big conference. Yesterday we mentioned that the pre-order date for HTC’s Virtual Reality headset called the Vive was revealed in an interview, with the date being February 29th. Regardless of that, we did want to get this out now because this giveaway is pretty awesome.
Sony’s press conference this year at CES 2016 is probably going to focus a lot on the company’s upcoming Virtual Reality headset, the Playstation VR. As for mobile related goodness, there is a possibility we could see a new Android device announced. I’m personally going to say that instead of a new Android device, we will probably hear more about additional second screen technology being developed for Sony’s Android devices.
