DigitalTrends happened to stop by the Rockstar Games office and managed to get a bit of a hands-on preview of Grand Theft Auto 3 for mobile, specially this time on an Android quad-core Tegra 3 (Kal-El) tablet. It was being shown off at New Yorks Comic Con but on an iPad 2 only as far as we know.
Right now we are nearing the release of two new chipsets for Android devices, both of which are quad-core. Qualcomm S4 is slated for release sometime in 2012 while nVidia’s Kal-El (Tegra 3) Chipset will start appearing in tablets within the next couple of month while phones will start appearing in Q1 2012.
If we were to guess which manufacturer would have the first Kal-El tablet leaked, we would have said Motorola or perhaps Samsung, maybe even LG. What we wouldn’t have said was ZTE but apparently that is the case in what has been leaked out of China.
There are plenty of us waiting for the official release of MadFinger Games’ upcoming OTS (Over the shoulder) shooter called Shadowgun which not only features some great gameplay but a plethora of eye candy to enjoy as well. With Kal-El tablets nearing release later this year and phones coming in early 2012, nVidia has released a couple of new whitepapers with more information about the Kal-El chipset. One interesting fact from the paper notes that Kal-El isn’t really quad-core but instead actually has a total of five cores.
Madfinger Games’ upcoming console-quality game called Shadowgun looks to be nearing a release onto Android soon. Today the developers announced the release date for the iOS version of Shadowgun, coming out on Sept 28th, with the Android version for dual- and quad-core devices after that.
As with last years leaked road map for nVidia chipsets, this new one shows off a couple of new chips we have yet to hear about. In this new roadmap, which shows upcoming codenames for future chips coming in 2012/2013, we get to meet two new members of the family, Kal-El+ and Wayne.
Sprinkle is a new game coming to Android Tegra 2 devices today that we have been playing for a little over a week now here at DroidGamers. It’s a great little physics puzzle game where you control a crane with a powerful hose attached to it that you will use to solve each level in the game.
Welcome to a new series of posts we will be doing every week called Tegra Twosdays. While we will still post on any other day that has news regarding Tegra 2 stuff, Tegra Twosdays will be dedicated to all things Tegra and Android. As more devices and games come out, there will be multiple posts on Tuesday.
