We just touched on this subject in our earlier article today about Nvidia’s Shield Android TV having its Marshmallow update starting to roll out as of this morning. Nvidia’s Shield Android TV is now having Android 6.0 Marshmallow rolling out to it with new update
While owners of the original Shield tablet are waiting on their Marshmallow update to become available again after it was pulled because of a nasty Wi-Fi related bug, owners of Nvidia’s Shield Android TV units are now having their Marshmallow goodies rolling out to them in a new update starting today.
A lot of owners of the original Nvidia Shield tablets were happy yesterday when we reported that the much awaited Marshmallow update had started to roll out for a majority of those devices. Well today Nvidia has pulled that update due to apparent Wi-Fi issues because of a bug arriving with that update.
Last week we reported on Nvidia who had begun teasing some features for the upcoming Marshmallow (Android 6.0) update for the company’s recently released Shield K1 tablet. Well today that update has begun rolling out to owners of the K1 tablet, which means we can now see the full changelog.
Google announces the Pixel C, an Android Marshmallow tablet with attachable keyboard and a Tegra X1
Google announced today a new device they have been working on called the Pixel C, which is a tablet and keyboard combination which runs Android Marshmallow. However, even though this is a combination of two items, they are sold individually. It is also a pretty big powerhouse in terms of specs.
In pretty much 20 minutes from now Google will be going live with their Nexus event and, of course, they will also be live streaming the entire thing for anyone who can’t actually be there. Up until now the next iteration of Android has simply been known as Android M. That, however, has changed today as Google has made it official that Android 6.0 will be called Android Marshmallow. Along with the new name, the new developer preview is now available as well as the new SDK 6.0 for developers.
