Recently Google did that corporate restructuring of all their companies, creating a new top-tier company called Alphabet. When that happened, Niantic Labs actually was removed from being owned by Google, becoming their own true entity. Today the Ingress developer has announced that they have received funding to the tune of $30 million from Google, The Pokemon Company, and Nintendo. It is a pretty interesting mix.

[UPDATE: Game Released] Cloud Chasers brings a heartwarming story and great gameplay to Android this week
I came across a video of Cloud Chasers a few weeks ago and I was really impressed. Delving a bit more into the story behind the game, I became even more intrigued. The good news is that this game is coming to Android and iOS soon. How soon? It releases in a couple of days, on Thursday, October 15th.
Developer of Free-To-Play Game has Game Stolen by Another Developer and Republished to Amazon Underground
Gamers are used to developers crying foul when a game is pirated by users, but in an odd turn of events, independent developer, North Pole Command Centre Limited, was the victim of another developer rather than consumers. According to a forum post by a Reddit user with the screen name, “funkst2002,” Amazon denied their submission for their game, Pocket Wrestling. Having previously published the game to Google Play, the user was confused by the rejection, inspiring them to conduct an investigation of their own.

Violating Consumer Trust: How Apple, Electronic Arts, 2K Games and Capcom are Undermining Digital Distribution
The lack of consumer ownership of digital content has long been a precarious condition that gamers have had to accept if they wished to purchase and play their favorite software titles. Be it an unfavorable end-user license agreement (EULA) or digital rights management (DRM), corporate entities have endeavored to convey that consumers do not own digital content, but rather license the content for an indeterminate period of time, during which the rights holder can terminate said license with impunity. Don’t believe me? Here is a snippet of Rockstar Games’ lengthy EULA.
The Duckforce Rises is a card-based battle game from developers Sanoma. Pulling its characters from Duckburg, the game will include heroes such as Donald Duck, Phantom Duck, and Uncle Scrooge. As for the villains, those would include Magica De Spell, Valkyrie Duck, and the Beagle Boys, to name a few.
2K Games may have gotten a little bad press lately as part of the overall game pulling from different mobile platforms, but the company today has added one more game to their available catalog of titles. That game is NBA 2K16 and it is a full-sized, fully featured basketball game.
When I came across Subterfuge, I didn’t quite know what to expect. On many levels, I still don’t. The game comes from a team of game creators that made the games World of Goo, Casey’s Contraptions and Flower Garden. Ron Carmel and Noel Llopis have created what appears to be a very cerebral multiplayer-only game. What really has me anticipating this game is the extremely well produced trailer that sets up the game play. The game looks challenging, totally engrossing, has a clean and crisp UI and will be coming to Android/iOS next week.
