A couple of months ago I came across the sequel to one of the platformers I enjoyed playing, Manuganu. Manuganu 2 was released on iOS and I was hopeful that it would make its way to Android as did its predecessor. A few days ago, independent game designer Alper Sarikaya, informed us that Manuganu 2 had indeed arrived in the Play Store.

The sequel to Piwot Games’ Gear Jack, published by Crescent Moon Games has recently arrived in the Play Store. If you enjoyed the first game, then get ready for another dose of artistic graphics, rolling, jumping and creeping through level after level of challenges.
Noodlecake is a developer studio that specializes in games of many types. Among others types, they publish pixelated, retro-style platformers like Random Heroes and League of Evil. Today, they have released another game in that genre called Devious Dungeon, for $1.99.
If you have been waiting for a while to get that next game that has a great story, unique graphics, engaging music and it happens to be a puzzle/platformer… wait no longer. Thomas Was Alone recently arrived in the Play Store. If you are familiar with the game you can bypass the back story and hit the download button below. I won’t be upset if you do… really. Trine 2: Complete Story is now available for $13.95 on the Google Play Store. However it is only compatible with Tegra K1 Android devices, which is so far only the Xiaomi Mi Pad 7.9 Tablet, but that will change in one week when the Shield Tablet is released. Trine 2 has been featured on many platforms in the past. Besides its initial release on PC, it has been on PS3 and Xbox 360.
Recently OUYA has announced the launch of Broken Age on the console, and the console-exclusivity of quirky clone-based puzzler So Many Me! which will be arriving at some point this month. A date being thrown around for it is June 12th, 2014.
Free Free Free Free Free To Play (abbreviated as FFFFFTP) is an upcoming game for Android. The story for this game is simple. An evil ogre named Ug has kidnapped Princess Pixel and is holding her for ransom. It’s the player’s job to (presumably) defeat the ogre in order to rescue her.
The release of good games for Android continues in July. Leo’s Fortune which was recently released for IOS makes it arrival on the Play Store July 10th. The reviews have been quite positive for this game whose main protagonist is a mustached furry green ball. The four person team behind Leo’s Fortune (1337 & Senri) are the creators of Dark Nebula and Devil’s Attorney, both successful entries in mobile gaming.
Back to Bed by Bedtime Digital Games has had a lengthy development cycle. Fortunately for Android gamers, it will arrive in the Play Store in August. That’s not too long to wait for a game of this caliber. The game was first developed as a student project with the Danish Academy for Digital Interactive Entertainment (DADIU) in 2011. After receiving quite a few awards for the intriguing game play and enchanting graphics, a KickStarter campaign was initiated and successfully funded in 2013. Now, the adventures of a narcoleptic gentleman named Bob and his trusty guardian Subob will make their way to your favorite handheld devices.
While platformer games are always popular on any platform they arrive on, it is the extremely challenging ones that seem to draw the most attention. Kitten Challenge is one of those challenging platformers and it is now available on Android for those of you who like to grind levels in order to beat them.
