Rovio, once known solely for their Angry Birds games which involved slinging birds into pigs (or in one case, cages), has now diversified its gaming portfolio. Their previous game, Amazing Alex, was a puzzler which required you to come up with crazy contraptions to solve simple tasks. Now, they’ve married the antagonists from the Angry Birds universe with the puzzling and contraption-heavy nature of Amazing Alex to come up with Bad Piggies.
GungHo Online has been in the gaming industry for some time now, most notably for their online MMORPG called Ragnarok Online. However they have also released a couple of Android games already including the rather entertaining Princess Punt THD where you play as a princess, punting your loyal subjects into the air in order to kill monsters. They are also responsible for bringing Lame Castle over to Android and the eye candy filled space shooter SILPHEED Alternative.
Thumbstar Games have released a new puzzle game onto Android called Pinch 2 Special Edition. Having recently released their rather crazy version of a Brickbreaker game called SpaceOff, this new puzzle game is also rather unique in that you’ll have to combine and separate your little characters in order to reach the end of each level safely.
Today we welcome in the second day of the 25-themed sale Google is putting on over on the Google Play store. While there are 25-packs of books, albums, magazines and more on sale for special prices, the main meat of the sale is the games and applications from top developers that are discounted down to $0.25.
We’ve been covering Rovio’s newest game as it slowly made it’s way to an actual release date. Just as Rovio had stated it would be, Bad Piggies has finally arrived onto Android, bringing with it the tried and true gameplay mechanics from two different titles, Angry Birds and Amazing Alex, except there are no birds to fling or a child genius to appease.
Herocraft’s latest release called The Tiny Bang Story has been put on sale for a limited time for $0.99. The Steampunk-esque game features hand-drawn art, fitting music and an enjoyable storyline to follow. However, there is no text in the game at all so following the storyline, and accomplishing goals in the game, is partly the responsibility of your imagination.
An indie developer going by the name of Panic Art Studios recently released a couple of games onto Google Play, both of which are little gems on their own. The two games, called AHOY! Bay Bubbles and Didi’s Adventure, are situated into two different genres, one being a more arcade Fruit Ninja-esque type of game while the other is more reminiscent of a puzzle/adventure game.
Back in June of this year a neat little retro-style game arrived on Android after receiving the porting treatment from it’s developers who originally released the game on Xbox Live. Developed by Nostalgic Software, Quiet, Please! is a rather interesting little game that is now available for those of you with access to the Amazon AppStore as today’s free app of the day.
Regardless of what country this would have come from, the fact that you can accuse a video game, and the company, with cyber warfare is an amusing concept but that is exactly what is happening with Rovio over two levels in the recent “Fry Me to the Moon” update for Angry Birds Space by the Iran Computer & Video Game Foundation. The charge? The two levels in Angry Birds Space are anti-Iranian levels in theme.
A new puzzle game has arrived onto Google Play called Puppet Rush. Developed by Player 2 Games, Puppet Rush is a puzzle game that requires quick reflexes with those fingers of yours as you try to save all the puppets you can, getting them to the end of each stage safely.
