Our weekly series of what we are playing has been transformed and Larry, the incredible edible squirrel as well like to call him, has fully taken it over. So from now on it will be named as Larry’s Play Corner where Larry will give you a quick rundown of a couple of games he’s playing each week, sometimes twice a week, giving you a glimpse at some lesser known titles you might want to check out.
We have mentioned this rumor in the past a couple of times and it now looks as though the rumor could be on its way to becoming true. The rumor is that Rovio has been planning and developing an Angry Birds themed game but instead of focusing on the Birds story, this new game would tell the story from the pig’s point of view.
The names Chillingo and Android don’t often appear in the same article, even after EA bough the company out last year. When they do appear in the same article, the game associated with the article is usually a pretty good one. In this case we have a new title heading our way called Wake Up Buzii! which will be published by Chillingo and is being developed by iFun4All.
We haven’t done a Hidden Gem article in a little while but that doesn’t mean there haven’t been games that land on our desk that were not worthy of such a label. In fact there have been a lot of them so we have decided to inject some caffeine into our veins and get the series back up and running. You can now meet the newest addition to the Hidden Gem games, City of Secrets by Aidem Media.
Arriving just after the Angry Birds Seasons Back to School update, Angry Birds Space has just received its newest update as well today called the Red Planet expansion. As you may be guessing, this is a Mars themed update featuring 20 new fiery levels that Rovio has teamed up with NASA for.
Herocraft has released a free version of their game that combines hidden object gaming with match-3 puzzle gaming to form a unique title called The Enchanted Kingdom: Elisa’s Adventure. Set to a fantasy theme, you will be exploring the kingdom around you as you help a young heiress to accede to the throne and learn how to rule her country.
Angry Birds Seasons has been updated and along with this update comes a bunch of fun stuff but most notably a new bird. Yes the new female pink one we talked about a couple of weeks ago, named Bubbles. This is all part of the Back to School seasons update for Angry Birds.
The Humble Bundle for Android 3 has been out for a short bit, featuring four games plus an unlockable fifth game should you pay more than the average price at the time of purchasing the bundle. Now we have just learned that the Humble Bundle for Android 3 has an additional four games added to it for a total of nine.
Back over on the fruit OS, Pebble Universe has a fairly good following. Developed by Itatake, Pebble Universe is now available over on the Google Play store for Android gamers to enjoy now as well. So what is this game about? Well it is a physics-based puzzle game where you will need to save the pebbles.
Tethys Interactive have released their first game onto Android which has a pretty awesome name, Robot Kitten Balloon Assault. Sounding like something Adult Swim would put out, this game is sort of a combination of Angry Birds and Breakout into one game, with kittens… robot kittens.
