Gamevil just announced that they were setting up their booth over at Google I/O 2011 which will be featuring their other recent hit game for iOS called Kami Retro. This time, however, it won’t be seen on iOS but instead running on Android! This would mean it is on the way for us to play soon!

Pokemon Tower Defense pulled off the Android Market. Faster then we thought it would but has a new home.
About two weeks ago we posted about an awesome little tower defense game with a bunch of RPG elements mixed into it themed around Pokemon. The game, called Pokemon Tower Defense, featured awesome retro-pixel art graphics, the original 150 Pokemon mixed together with tower defense gameplay and RPG leveling.
Back in the mid-90s there was a game called Z. Now called Z: The Game, it is being remade for more modern times and is slated to be released on a multitude of platforms include Android. The great thing about Z is that most of the units in the game, which are robots, all seem to have their own unique (and entertaining) personalities.
Many many people have went crazy over the retro shooter called PewPew since it’s release. Unfortunately for everyone who is addicted to Pew Pew, developer Jean-François Geyelin has decided to release a sequel wonderfully named PewPew 2. There are plenty of enemies to blow up in this crazy multi-directional retro game.
Meganoid is a retro-styled platform game with all sorts of goodies included. Brought to us by the ever awesome crew at OrangePixel who tend to make some of the best retro-style games for Android. Your goal is to get through each stage and collect the gems, except half of them are hidden (at least it feels that way)!
Want to play a racing game on your Android phone but feel like getting back to your old school arcade roots? I’m not talking about some black and weird off-white color hand held system but the arcade units you used to sit down in with a steering wheel that usually didn’t fully work and a shifting knob that just flopped around half the time.
Are you a ninja? Enjoy bouncing off walls and attacking enemies from behind? Well even if you aren’t there is a new game on the Android market which is a fast paced platformer with a nice 8-bit retro style called Hyperactive Ninja, developed by Ninja Coders. In this game you are a ninja strung out on caffeine and you need to get past every level continuously move and rescue all the coffee.
Following in the spirit of yesterday’s retro game article about OpenTyrian here is another retro arcade style game that just landed on the Android market recently called Full Metal Warriors II by JoyMaster Holdings Co. LTD. and is your one-way ticket to some old school arcade ass kicking action. It is time to unleash special attacks and beat down every enemy in your path.
It is time for some more retro-style gaming and the latest to drop onto the Android market is a game called OpenTyrian by developer Pelya. Pelya is actually a regular over at the Anddev.org forums and has released a few other games onto the market but none as slick as this one. This is your retro space shooter you’ve always wanted to have on your phone.
