EP0CH is a rail shooter released by Uppercut Games. For the uninitiated, rail shooters are where the player’s path through a game is strictly defined and players have no control over the forward progression, but instead focus exclusively on shooting and dodging with the progression the level/game occurring once the screen has been cleared of enemies, lasts only until more enemies arrive (at which point it stops to let combat commence), and functions more like a cut scene when it does occur.

I’m a massive classic gaming fan and nerd, and my love of all things video games goes back to the very beginning. My connection to the arcade is so deep I actually worked with my father-in-law for 6 consecutive weekends to construct an arcade cabinet from plans that I then set up with multiple emulators, but the most important of them is absolutely MAME: the Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator. To give you an idea of the extent of my love, my gaming handle going back almost a decade is MAMEiac. It’s in my blood. I love that classic arcade feel, and I understand the notion of playing a game for its own sake, or getting a high score; I don’t need a compelling story or modern trappings to find joy.
Halfbrick’s Age of Zombies to get six updates in a short period of time to kick of Zombie Month
Halfbrick’s rather fun game Age of Zombies will be getting six updates pushed to it over the course of a short time period, that being a month. This is to kick off Zombie Month which is now apparently a thing. The first of these six updates has arrived today and it adds some pretty good new features to the game.

SNK Playmore has been steadily releasing ports of some of their most popular franchises and games in their catalog onto Android for awhile now. Hungarian games developer isTom Games has a few games in the Play Store. They include Paper Train Reloaded, Ship Breaker, Nyan Cat: Lost in Space, Flappy Nyan, Nyan Cat: Jump and a few others. A few months ago, they released an arcade rail shooter on iOS titled Mad Bullets. Mad Bullets became available in the Amazon App Store recently and we expect it to arrive in the Play Store soon, though no date has been confirmed at this point. The game design for Mad Bullets is a blast from the past. It is a vivid and action-filled arcade shooter that is meant to test your reflexes and visual acuity.
There’s a new FPS out by Brutal Studio, the guys who brought us Epic Celeb Brawl, yep, I’ve never heard of them either. Heavy Shooter is a fixed FPS game, you have no movement and shoot from a fixed position on the map.
DotEmu is a publisher that specializes in re-releasing older PC games for modern play. They have a decent sized offering on Google Play that include the Metal Slug series, and Another World. They have put two of their offerings on sale in conjunction with Google’s Summer Sale for Play. The games that they’re discounting are R-Type II and the Double Dragon Trilogy.
Two days before its intended launch, Modern Combat 5 was leaked to gamers everywhere via torrent. Gameloft is understandably livid. In a perhaps futile effort to stem the tide of users illegally acquiring the game because of the lack of an official launch, Gameloft rushed to push the game’s release ahead by one day.
