Outside of the 2K Games sale we reported on earlier today, there are a few other notable individually games and companies with a few games that are on sale right now as well. While tomorrow we will be doing our usual full round-up of Android games on sale, since there are a lot of bigger titles discounted right now, a mini round-up is what we are doing now.
SNK Playmore releases older games, usually ones that were on the Neo Geo machines in bygone arcades. Today, they put several of their games on sale, for half price. They do little to change the appearance of the games, so they tend to look as they look just like they did in the arcade.
SNK Playmore, developers behind franchises like King of Fighters and Metal Slug, have formally announced today their intentions to focus mainly on mobile and console games, at least for the immediate future. The company will now be putting twice the effort and focus into making console and mobile games.
The latest Humble Mobile Bundle arrived yesterday after a couple of weeks off, and to kick things back off this new Humble Mobile Bundle is a themed one based around Neo Geo games. That means plenty of SNK Playmore titles are now available for whatever you want to pay for them.
It’s Friday which means it is time once again for our end of the week round-up of Android games on sale right now for this weekend. SNK Playmore releases some classic SNK games for Android, many of which were found on Neo Geo arcade machines, in the 1990s. For anyone looking for some retro, side scrolling action games or retro fighting games, or an arcade shooter, they’ve listed several of them on sale for $0.99.
SNK Playmore has done rather well for themselves with bringing their older franchises to mobile devices. So it is a bit weird when the company has announced that one of their games will be removed from both Apple and Android platforms this week. The game being removed is their rather odd The Rhythm of Fighters game.
One of the most anticipated games this year for mobile, and mainly all video game platforms, was Mortal Kombat X. While the game was supposed to be released around the same time as the iOS version, the Android version ended up being weeks late over every other platform the game was released on. We may never know the real reason this happened but now that the game has been out for roughly a week or so globally, everyone has had a chance to play it. What could have ended up as a barrier breaking fantastic game actually ended up being a decent game when you need to kill some time.
