Noodlecake Games just surprised iOS gamers with a new action-puzzler called Island Delta, but thankfully they didn’t forget about us Android gamers. They’ve just tweeted a December 22nd, 2016 Android release date for Snowball!, their upcoming pinball game for mobile and PC.
Released today, the team at Spry Fox LLC has given us a fresh take on the Rogue-like genre “Road not Taken”. Accounting for the fact that this genre is the balls right now, their timing is impeccable. I put this game through some quick paces to let you know what’s involved.
Dead Island has been through some turbulent waters in the last couple years. Escape Dead Island was a cel-shaded disaster, the amazing MOBA Dead Island: Epidemic was shut down even before leaving Open Beta, Dead Island: Retro Revenge wasn’t the traditional beat ’em up we were led to believe it would be, and Dead Island 2 is still lost somewhere in an undead production purgatory.
Released by Gambitious Digital Entertainment, RunGunJumpGun has now been ported over to Android, from Steam. In this game, players will be in control of a character (dubbed the “scavenger”) is looking to complete each of the game’s 120 levels. Each of these levels contains a certain amount of “atomiks” that players can try to collect, while finishing the level.

LucasArts is one of those studios that I really appreciate. Twenty some years ago, they released a string of excellent adventure games that went WAY outside of the bread and butter of Star Wars. Day of the Tentacle was one such game. Set up as the sequel to Maniac Mansion, Day of the Tentacle carries over many (though not all) of its characters, and takes place five years later. I really enjoyed this game when I was in High School, and was thrilled to be able to play it again over the last few weeks, via GeForce Now.
Over the last 6 months there’s been plenty of still shots from Morphite appearing online, and a scant handful of clips, but now we’ve received the first full trailer, and it’s every bit as glorious as expected- a beautiful cel-shaded No Man’s Sky by way of Metroid Prime. Developed by We’re Five Games and Crescent Moon Games Morphite is a tremendously ambitious, procedurally generated 3D action-exploration game complete with cutscenes and full-voice acting.
