Over the past couple of months, and especially over the last week, there have been rumors that Google was working on a true Android-powered Virtual Reality platform and a standalone headset. Today, as was suggested to happen, Google announced that platform which will be called Daydream.

Like always Google will be live broadcasting the opening keynote speech for this year’s Google I/O conference. And just like we do each year, we will be sure to have all the live streams from the entire conference available here for viewing for those of you who can’t make it to the actual event. This year’s Google I/O should be pretty interesting, especially with what we already know is going to be making their debut.
In other VR news today, word on the virtual street is that Google may be gearing up to release an Android-powered Virtual Reality headset of their own at next week’s Google I/O 2016. This wouldn’t be a massive surprise or anything if it actually came to pass, since this is the next logical step from Google Cardboard in the world of VR headset evolution. This is especially true with yesterday’s news that there is over a million active Gear VR users.
Fans of the Hitman series, or more specifically Hitman GO, who also own a Samsung Gear VR headset now have a chance to jump right into the game a lot more with the newly released Hitman GO VR game. If you’ve played the original version on your Android device, than you’re be right at home with this version, except for the fact that you’ll literally be right in the game.
Minority Media today has announced that their upcoming Virtual Reality game called Time Machine will finally be launching this month for both major VR headsets, the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. The narrative for this game was written by the Assassin’s Creed III and IV writer Jill Murray.
The rather humorous game Please, Don’t Touch Anything will be getting a Virtual Reality version released later this month for the Oculus Rift and the Gear VR headsets. If you’re not familiar with Please, Don’t Touch Anything, this is a pretty unique and funny game where you are presented with a single red button in front of a monitor, along with a sign saying not to touch anything.
Erik Finman is the person behind a new VR headset that has just launched onto IndieGoGo for additional funding in order to get it manufactured and eventually shipped out to people interested in it. Outside of the Big 3 VR headsets, those being the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and the Samsung Gear VR, there are plenty of other headsets available for folks to try out. However, The Marvel, as this headset is called, actually has a few features that set it apart from the plethora of other headsets out there.
Back near the beginning of March this year during GDC 2016 we announced that Minecraft would be getting some Virtual Reality love in the near future. While this was for the PC version and headsets like the Oculus Rift, there was also a version announced for the Samsung Gear VR. Well Minecraft Gear VR Edition is now available for download.
While at GDC, there was plenty of mobile game related goodies as well as Virtual Reality items to check out. One product we sat down with is called MyDream Swift which, in a general sense, is a lightweight program that essentially turns your PC games into Virtual Reality games.
As you are probably aware of, we have been at GDC 2016 all last week, with Jaymes and Ryan holding down the fort here.
