Sometimes you just have to give credit where credit is due and right now Sony Ericsson is kicking off what we are guessing is going to be a weekly event called Minecraft Mondays. We aren’t giving them credit for that though but for the giant Xperia Play that was built in Minecraft: Pocket Edition on an Xperia Play
The Tokyo Game Show came with much more news for mobile gaming than we thought it would which is always nice and among the news was Sony’s announcement of the Playstation Suite SDK for developing games for Playstation Certified devices and a more vague announcement of a push for content on those devices.
It seems as though more and more classic arcade games are making their way to Android these days and today is no exception as Sony Ericsson has announced that Lode Runner will be making it’s way over to the Xperia Play soon. This will be another Xperia Play exclusive title which is set to be released in a few months.
During our talk with Sony Ericsson on Wednesday during VDCC (Verizon’s developer conference) we asked about the word going around that there would not be another iteration of the Xperia Play device. Sony Ericsson did drop a few hints as to what the future holds for the Xperia Play.
You can now add at least one more device that is being supported by Gameloft’s MMORPG called Order and Chaos. It comes as no surprise to us either that it would be the Xperia Play that is now being supported and all the controls that come with this phone.
Minecraft: Pocket Edition has been out for a short while now for the Xperia Play which currently features the classic mode (or creative mode depending on what you like to call it) where you can get to build whatever you like. Daniel Kaplan of Mojang has come out to give a general idea of where things are heading including Survival Mode.
Another carrier has been added to this list of companies to offer the Xperia Play. AT&T has announced that it will be offering the Xperia Play in a ‘stealth blue’ color which will come complete with 4G access. However, this particular Xperia Play will be offered in an package deal.
Vendetta Online is a space-themed MMORPG for Android tablets, preferably of the dual-core variety. In a recent update however all this has changed and now this massive online game comes with support for the Xperia Play controls. This is pretty big news for a few reasons.
Some news is circulating right now that Gameloft’s Asphalt 6: Adrenaline racing game is available for free right now on select devices, specifically the Samsung Galaxy S 2. We are not entirely sure if this is a limited time offer or what exactly is going on but good news if you own one of these devices.
