Help your starship escape pursuing aliens in Battleship Lonewolf: Space TD, now out on Google Play
Released by tabasco games, Battleship Lonewolf: Space TD is an interesting strategy game, where players are tasked with helping to keep a fleeing battleship in tact. The backstory is predicated on power stones, which are resource endemic to outer space, with our solar system having already run out of them.
Manage a generational succesion of heroes in Hero Generations ReGen, now available from Google Play
After this game was released on the Ouya early last year, Hero Generations is now available for all of Android, but under the new name of Hero Generations ReGen. This is a game that crosses roguelike elements with your typical 4X strategy. The gameplay is turn-based, with each turn taking one year’s time in the lift of your heroes. Each of the characters will age that year, and part of the game will include players attempting to marry off their characters, and leveling up their progeny.
Multiplayer has been a staple in gaming since forever. Pocket Guild is a game that gives that idea a bit of a twist. In this game, players will be responsible to create and staff their own guild that’s full of NPCs, within a world with a fantasy base to its setting. Players will begin their game by picking out the name of their guild, character, and chosen class (Dealing, Absorbing, or Healing damage).
Released by robapps, Electromagnets is a game where players control two magnets, and most push them apart or pull them together to avoid oncoming obstacles. These obstacles are either located along the periphery of the screen, or right along the middle. The magnets will naturally drift apart, and only come together when players tap and hold on the screen.
Use light and shadow to navigate through worlds in Where Shadows Slumber. Demo now available to try.
Where Shadows Slumber is a puzzler that’s coming to Android at a future date. This will be a game that’s similar to Monument Valley or Evo Explores, in that players solve the puzzle by navigating their character to the end of the level. Unlike those games though, it doesn’t have that Escher influence on its visuals.
Guide your glowing cube through a maze in the dark in Maze Dungeon, now available from Google Play
Released by uaJoyTech, Maze Dungeon is a new maze oriented game that’s available on Android. In this game, players will be tasked with guiding a glowing cube through a maze, toward the end of each level. The catch is that the maze is set in the dark. The cube that players will be using does glow in the dark though, which allows players to view the maze that immediately surround the cube.
One of the many trends that have cropped up in mobile gaming is where games are designed to have dark or black visuals in the foreground, while light and colorful images make the background. The first thing that jumped out to me with Albert and Otto was that the color palate was reversed.
Released by Michael Brough, Glitch Tank is a combat game that’s designed for one or more players. The layout for the game is where players have four cards (or buttons) arrayed in front of them. Players begin with one large tank for each, and immediately begin issue orders to it.
Fans of Match-3 puzzlers might want to check out this new matching game. Dubbed Dale Hardshovel HD, this is a game where players are still looking to match up like objects, but it’s not on the conventional board that iterates on Bejeweled. Rather, the game utilizes boards of various shapes. Further, the boards aren’t completely filled.
