Released by ForthWardStudios, Aurora: Quarantine is a new entrant into the balance ball genre. Set in the year 2098, the world has succumbed to pollution and the misuse of resources. In response to this, ecological sanctuary cities are created, but only the super wealthy can afford to live there and thus escape the hardship that everyone else is forced to endure.
[Update: Pre-Register Now] Rovio soft launches their newest entry into their Angry Birds franchise called Angry Birds Action!
Rovio, makers of all things avian and angry, have released a new game into the Angry Birds franchise called Angry Birds Action! The game is currently being rolled out softly in a few select regions, so I haven’t had the opportunity to try it out yet. That being said, the game fits the mold of prior releases, where players will pull back on Red, and then let him loose to bounce around a variety of outdoor structures (sound familiar yet?), to see what can be taken down.
Announced by Pokémon Company International, there is now an open beta for Pokémon Trading Card Game Online, though it’s only officially available for Android tablets at the moment. Originally released for browsers in the Spring of 2011, this trading card game is now being officially ported over to Android.
Released by Kevin Vermaat, Rumble Arena is a new fighting game for Android. Players will be able to assume the roles of a number of mythological heroes include Thor, Sparticus, and Wukong, in a brawl designed by the gods in order to determine who is the greatest legend of them all.
Announced by Square Enix via the game’s Twitter account, that they are going to be releasing the Android version of Romancing SaGa 2 globally. Originally released for the Super Famicom back in 1993, this game is set in the Kingdom of Avalon, where players begin the game assuming the role of King Leon, along with other characters (even through subsequent generations of characters) as the focus of the game shifts.
Released by Game Dev Team, MechCom 2 is a new RTS game for the Android platform. Pulling its inspiration from Warzone 2100, this game is set on the plant of Tiberius, where resources are being fought over. Players will assume the role of an unnamed, yet distinguished, military commander, tasked with the ranks of one of the competing corporations in search of the scarce materials.
Re-released by mobrix, Gundbird II is a classic bullet hell shooter from the Gunbird franchise, that was originally released in 1998. Like other entries in this genre, players will fly overhead, dodging enemy projectiles while shooting down as many as possible. In this game, players are controlling a flying character, as opposed to a gunship of sorts.
Released by Nexon Mobile, DomiNations is a strategy game that spans most of human history. Players will assume control over one of eight different nation/states: Romans, British, Chinese, French, Germans, Japanese, Koreans or Greeks, all having unique advantages, and set out to build a growing metropolis, but from the humblest of beginnings.
