Origin8’s newest Sentinel game called Sentinel 4: Dark Star has been updated with some new goodies that you will want to know about if you play this game. Essentially, in a nutshell, there are new weapons and turrets available in the game as well as a whole new Commander unit.
Jujubee Games, developer of the Flashout series of futuristic racing games and the Suspect franchise, has announced a new game that will be heading our way soon called Spellcrafter: The Path of Magic and has nothing to do with racing, something that up until now has been Jujubee’s main theme for their games. Instead Spellcrafter is a tactical turn-based RPG title.

As far as gamebooks are concerned the genre has been around for a very long time, much longer than it has been on mobile, and it has a pretty big fan base. While most of them adhere to the standard format of gamebooks, that being you read through the book and flips to the corresponding page that is based on your decision when presented with a choice of what to do, these gamebooks are a bit different in terms of how their style is.

Microsoft has announced, and put into place, a formal new policy regarding the creation of YouTube Let’s Play videos as well as content streamed on services like TwitchTV. Up until now the company didn’t really have a formal policy geared towards this type of content creation. One thing CES is usually good for is getting a sneak peek or two and unreleased games that will soon be coming to Android. At Qualcomm’s booth they had plenty of games being shown on their development tablets to showcase their new Snapdragon 810 and Adreno 430 chipset team. However all of them were games already released except for one that happened to show its demo reel right before we left. The game we are talking about is Gates of Osiris by Fenix Fire.
One thing there is plenty of at CES every year are headsets, whether the full headband style (with or without mics) or the ear bud kind, there is always a ton of headsets to check out. Most of these are geared towards listening to music and watching video on your smartphone or tablet. However there is also the occasional mobile gaming-centric headset to be found and one of those happens to be Mad Catz’s other announcement.
Nitrome has been in the news a lot lately with the release of a few games onto Android already and the developer doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon with the announcement of Gunbrick coming to mobile devices next. Gunbrick is an arcade platformer which also features Nitrome’s rather good pixel art.
In the past couple of years Mad Catz has really pushed well into the mobile gaming market with their peripherals and even an Android-based game console called the MOJO. Since the company first dove into the mobile gaming scene, each year we get to see new peripherals to get released and CES 2015 is definitely no exception to this with two new peripherals announced for mobile gamers. There is the L.Y.N.X.9 mobile game controller and the Swarm mobile gaming headset which we will go into in a second article.
