It seems I may have been a little bit harsh with Gameloft over the last few weeks. I slated the new Dungeon Hunter game, and exposed several problems with games when using Ice Cream Sandwich. This time I’m here to talk about their latest release, Shark Dash.
Sega’s Virtua Tennis Challenge drops Xperia Play exclusivity, becoming available for other devices
Back in March of this year Sega released the latest edition to their Virtua Tennis series of games, a mobile optimized title called Virtua Tennis Challenge. At the time of the game’s release, it was made available only for the Xperia Play with a release date for all other Android devices being in May 2012.
Originally released back in 1991, Another World (a.k.a Out of this World) was a rather unique game at the time which ended up creating quite the cult following for the title. Recently DotEmu brought Another World over to Android to celebrate its 20th Anniversary but if you haven’t picked it up yet, now is a good time.
Over on the official Gameloft Facebook page, the company has started teasing what they are calling their next ‘blockbuster’ game that will be arriving on iOS and Android soon. Gameloft is teasing their fans in a rather unique way though, by having all of us removing pixels from a black image which will eventually reveal exclusive art from the upcoming game and, in turn, letting us know what the game actually is.
We have ourselves to blame for not having a HTC Android smartphone that can power through hours of gaming and regular use without begging for a recharge. Various news outlets are reporting that Bjorn Kilburn, who is the vice president of product strategy for HTC, said customers prefer thinner phones over battery life.
Back in September of 2011 we talked about a game called CheeseMan from developer Hicham Allaoui. For those of you not familiar with who Hicham Allaoui is, he has worked on a variety of title professionally for the Nintendo DS including the likes of Raving Rabbids Travel in Time.
Since the funding for Shadowrun Returns has completed and the game will indeed be made, slated for release on Android tablets, one big feature that a lot of people were hoping for is multiplayer. While it was said that multiplayer wouldn’t be coming, at least not right away, we now have more confirmation that it will most likely arrive but it will be after the game’s launch.
Following up on yet another story today, a few weeks ago we also talked about Glu’s upcoming addition to the Deer Hunter series of games called Deer Hunter Reloaded. Well that game as well has been released today onto the Google Play store for those of you who enjoy creeping around a virtual forest and shooting animals.
A few days ago we talked about Gameloft and that they were gearing up to release their first physics-based puzzle game onto mobile called Shark Dash. Well for those of you who have been waiting for this game, it is now available on the Google Play store.
As you may know, the Android family consists of literally hundreds of phones and growing by the day. If there ever was a major complaint from developers concerning device support, fingers would firmly point to fragmentation. While arguing both sides of the coin won’t probably solve much, the most important thing to consumers is customer satisfaction.
