We’ve been following the development of PocketMine since it was created, even using it in our own Minecraft: Pocket Edition server. It has come a long way since its inception, now having a plug-in library, mod tools and all sorts of other goodies. There was regular communication between Mojang developers and Shoghi Cervantes, the developer behind PocketMine, on Twitter quite often. So it should be as no surprise that Mojang has finally brought Shogi on board.

Companion Applications are an interesting concept in a lot of ways because you’re basically trying to take advantage of the mobile gaming industry, and the gaming industry in general, by extending the functionality of your game to include mobile devices. This could be for a lot of reasons and done in many ways, whether it is actually useful features, a second screen feature, news and update, and whatever else a developer can think up in order to make their games look like there is a lot more features to it then there actually is.

Announced last August, Games Workshop’s latest Warhammer 40k game to be released on Android, courtesy of Complex Games, has finally arrived. Officially titled The Horus Heresy: Drop Assault, this is an RTS-style game set in the Warhammer 40k universe.
In November of last year, we reported on Goon Studios latest project, Monster vs. Sheep. If you are unfamiliar with Goon Studios, they are a game development studio based in Pasadena, California. Their first project on Android was Boogey Boy. When we played it, we felt it was a fun, vibrant and intriguing game, to add to the endless runner/platforming genre. Fast forwarding from November to February, Goon Studios recently released a second trailer for Monster vs. Sheep a few days ago. It looks like the Goons are at it again, creating what is sure to be a fun and original game. The good news is that we don’t have to wait too long, because Monster vs. Sheep is on its way to Android/iOS devices.
It appears that Gameloft will be adding a rather interesting feature in the next Asphalt 8 update. The company has begun teasing what looks like custom paint jobs for the cars that are in Asphalt 8. Of course since this is more of a tease than anything else, there are not a whole lot of details as to what exactly this will entail.
Noodlecake Games announced today over Twitter that they will be bringing Tiltagon to Android in the near future. For those of you not familiar with this game, Tiltagon has a sort of twitch-style of gameplay to it, mainly because you are trying to tilt the platforms to get your ball to collect all the small squares in each level.
Everyone is pretty familiar with Ubisoft Entertainment. When they release a mobile game, depending upon its content, people tend to take notice. This week, Android gamers have an opportunity to experience Monkey King Escape. The game was developed by Ubisoft’s Chinese studio, Ubisoft Chengdu. They are a small development team that has chosen to take on the popular legend of the Monkey King.
Gameloft’s newest installment into the Dungeon Hunter franchise is getting closer to release and like always the company has begun releasing more and more videos relating to the game.
