While there may be plenty of side-scrolling platformers on mobile these days, there are not a whole lot that would fit into the category of ones that you will want to play over and over. However there is one that is heading our way soon that, from what we have seen so far, looks like it would fit into that category quite nicely.

The original Resident Evil was released in 1996, and has forever changed the landscape of horror video games. Now it’s 2015 and the Resident Evil franchise is still alive and well, unlike the many zombies featured throughout the series. With the pending release of Resident Evil Revelations 2, now is a good time to catch up on the series.
[UPDATE:Game Released] Crescent Moon Games announces that Almightree will be coming to Android soon
Crescent Moon Games has confirmed on Twitter today that the Zelda-style puzzle-based platformer Almightree (developed by Chocoarts) will be arriving onto Android devices soon. As the story goes, the world is shattering and in order to stop this, you will have to take our hero on a journey to get to the Almightree to awaken it and save the world.
Zen Studios has announced that they have two new original pinball tables heading our way soon to their Zen Pinball platform. One of the tables is actually based off of one of their other non-pinball games called CastleStorm. The other new table is a Western themed one called Wild West Rampage. Both tables will be making their appearance near the end of this month within Zen Pinball.

Deadman’s Cross from Square Enix has been available on mobile devices for some time now. In case you didn’t know, this was actually an exclusive release for mobile devices… that is until today. Square Enix has release Deadman’s Cross onto the PS Vita (accessible through the Playstation Network). With this release onto the PS Vita, Square Enix has expanded the cross-platform multiplayer features to include this new PS Vita release.
Nvidia’s GRID service will hit 40 titles the same day as their GDC 2015 press event happens. Saints Row IV, Alan Wake, and Metro Last Light Redux coming to GRID this month.
More evidence is coming to light that whatever Nvidia is planning to announce at GDC 2015 has something to do with their gaming on demand service GRID. Today Nvidia has announced that there will be a total of 40 titles available on GRID soon. In fact the next three titles which will push the GRID catalog to 40 are some rather big games.
Amazon is currently offering up a bit of a deal when it comes to purchasing a Nvidia Shield Tablet from their site. This isn’t a sale on the Shield Tablets where the price of the tablet is discounted. Instead Amazon is offering buyers a $30 Amazon Gift Card with a purchase of a Shield Tablet.
During the doldrums of winter, there is nothing better than taking a vacation to a warmer place. While I don’t have the luxury of traveling during the winter, Summer beckons along with a yet to be fully planned trip to a Disney resort. In the meantime Disney fans/geeks like me have to find ways to keep the magic alive. Of course I will always recommend some quality Disney gaming.
Weekend Play Game Review: Evolve: Hunters Quest – A Match-3 puzzle game based off of the PC game Evolve
The latest game to receive a companion app for a console game is Evolve: Hunters Quest. Evolve is a 4 versus 1 multiplayer FPS/Third Person Shooter hybrid, that is now available for XBox One, PS4 and on Steam. The game is designed by Turtle Rock Studios, the creators of Left for Dead, and published by 2K Games. The 4 versus 1 multiplayer aspect is unique in that you can choose to be one of four hunters, or the beast in the game that is being hunted. The companion app Evolve: Hunters Quest, is a collaboration between 2K Games and Cat Daddy Studios. What is the companion app game play comprised of? Believe it or not, it is a match-3 type puzzle game, but it is one of the best I have encountered.
Joycity, the makers of Gunship Battle, have announced that they’ve added a significant update to their game. In this update, they’ve added options beyond the gyro/tilt controls that it has, now totaling four different types, including a virtual D-Pad and two other unspecified types.
